dplewis if you look at the actual trades , the spread has been pretty tight today , mostly around 3p , but the quoted bid and offers are misleading.

If consolidation was to facilitate initial / extra buying from 'bigger & institutional' buyers, it has been a failure, at least in the immediate short-term.
I do hope that this hasn't been done after listening to some pump and dump, quick turnover hedge-fund type, who has sold into the run-up rise, having bought earlier and then talked to management.
We've now lost 10% of the pre-consolidation shareprice, and, for hedge-funds, that's a good short term scalping pay-day

I'm still underwater here just , it looks like a bit of a punt as quite a lot of uncertainty. I will be holding not adding.

wad - do not check every day - last time I updated was a bid of 57.9 and when opened this morning bid was 516 - Though spread now narrowed - Anyway looks as though heading into a major down week!! FTSE and 250 both down 2.4% but not enought blood on the streets to buy -
Potential market fall say guess 10% plus - What do you feel?

Not sure I follow that ; the trades on Friday were around 54p on close , and today's few trades are around 540p (But hardly any volume). So , as would be expected, no effective change..

Everything is in full recovery mode. Building material prices are rising. Debt coming down at a gallop. Recycling %age rising.
I think the divvy will be re-introduced here at a 20p+ (on the consolidated share basis)level next year.

Very frustrating that RWI still trades at these penny valuation depressing levels given the activity in the sector.

very disappointing, hopefully there will be a catalyst for re-rating

Just announced: Covanta to be taken private at $20.25 by EQT Infrastructure (37% premium).

Covanta almost merged with Renewi in 2009. Covanta another listed recycling / waste name to be delisted.

I'm curious to see market reaction on RWI following the news.

Covanta takeover multiple est. 11.5x EV/EBITDA
Renewi current NTM multiple 5.62x EV/EBITDA

19 July 2021 is the effective date for the 1/10 share consolidation

Shouldn't have a big impact on the UK shareholder base but they expect it to be very positive for the Euro shares because of some EU fund manager rules to avoid investing in stock below 1 EUR (ie reputational reasons, liquidity etc)

The Dutch listing had an overall positive impact on share price and liquidity. The listing price was €0.4268 on 30/1/20 vs current €0.68

Lets see if the 1/10 consolidation brings any positive impact. Could we see going over 60p ahead or after the consolidation?

Yep, mind you credit spreads are an an all time low. There was a high yield (junk) bond issued recently that was the lowest spread over benchmark ever. 2007 all over again..
