18/4/2021 11:59 | a note of slight caution - AJ Bell magazine has recommended that investors bank their winnings and move on. OUR CALL TO back the self-help programme at Anglo-Dutch waste management firm Renewi (RWI) has paid off faster than we expected, more than doubling our money in less than six months. With no shortage of good ideas out there we think it is time to book profit and move on.Volumes in the Minerals and Waste division have grown as hoped, while cost savings from the Renewi 2.0 programme are flowing through and earnings for the year to the end of March are set to hit the firm’s upgraded guidance.Going forward, the firm expects another year RENEWI(RWI) 49PGain to date: 105% Original entry point: Buy at 23.95p, 19 November 2020SHARES SAYS:After such a dramatic re-rating of the shares, and with a tough year still in prospect, it’s time for us to bank our winnings and move on. Though long-term investors may want to book some profit and keep at least portion of their position running. RENEWIof overall waste volumes below pre-pandemic levels in the Benelux region but says it’s too early to assess the financial impact.Meanwhile, the increase in margins from the shift from incineration to more sales of high-grade secondary building materials will take time, as will the recovery of lost sales at the hazardous waste unit | harry the haddock
12/4/2021 17:10 | Now that Veolia and Suez have come to an agreement, I wonder if Suez investors will start to migrate to RWI. They could gain a lot by doing so. | gregsc
12/4/2021 14:37 | That's a lovely move and spike. Price has moved almost 10% now. It clearly pays to keep a track of any peculiar trading exchanges coming in to shares. The other interesting notable thing here is the power of psychological marks and how the sellers congregate around these marks. Often we do see these pops through once the congregation is cleared. RWI has been a nice one to nip in and out of. Pesky short termers leaving the building! Until the next time... We'll meet again... Don't know where... Don't know when... Ha All imo DYOR (even on poor karaoke) | sphere25
09/4/2021 17:48 | i would expect peel hunt & investec to upgrade their PTs to the 70ps, following Kepler this week | george stobbart
09/4/2021 17:36 | Good to see the upward trend to end the week at 53p there is definitely momentum to take this further. | catch007
08/4/2021 10:20 | Excellent, might be off the back of the Kepler note but good volume and really got its skates on now. | dplewis1

08/4/2021 09:06 | As reported by our Dutch friends: By ABM Financial News on April 8, 2021 09:35 Stock market bike: Kepler Cheuvreux increases price target Renewi Image: ABM Financial News (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Kepler Cheuvreux has Thursday increased the price target for Renewi from 0.56 to 0.73 euros and repeated the buy advice. With this price target, there is an upside potential of 25 percent. "The strong performance of its commercial arm and better recycling prices should support the group results," said Kepler. "Renewi has proven to be more resilient to the crisis than expected, both in terms of earnings development and balance sheet." According to the analysts, the company is "uniquely positioned". | gregsc
08/4/2021 08:50 | Unusual early exchanges in RWI with 760k traded so far. You rarely get that unless there is news. It is a very quiet morning out there in the wider market too. Clearly the chart resistance has tied in with the psychological 50p mark. There are sellers in size sat there lobbing at the moment. Noteworthy volume for RWI and interested to see if it does pick up from here to allow a possible break of that key 50p. Sometimes it can go quiet with RWI. Chart has been consolidating for about a month. Beyond unscheduled trading updates (seen as RWI has been upgrading numbers), the next update will be the full year results, due on the 27th May. It has been a great trading share this but happy for longer term holders too as it has clearly been one of the more frustrating ones out there. Will the buying pick up to allow a break of 50p? All imo DYOR | sphere25
07/4/2021 10:56 | Pushing beyond 50p is proving a real challenge, if we can get past this then I see a further decent run. RWI is one to tuck away and watch the recovery. | catch007
06/4/2021 22:17 | With our history of mishaps, with the virus still rampant in Europe, and with a still sizable chunk of debt, maybe the investment community is correct in playing "show me the money to follow the recovery". We have gone from 18p to 50p inside 6 months, having been between 17p and 28p for the previous 6. We haven't been at 50p since Nov. 2018. Patience, and reward, comes to those who wait. I believe my initial May 20p purchases will bring me a divvy of 4p inside 2 years, with a shareprice around £1 at that stage. That's IF some pension/hedge/capita | outsizeclothes.com
01/4/2021 18:54 | To be fair it's done pretty well from 20p! | dplewis1
01/4/2021 16:53 | I notice that our colleagues on the Dutch thread are sharing the same frustrations about this share as we are. | gregsc
30/3/2021 11:28 | The May update should follow the encouraging trading trend. The business seems to be in good shape now (though RWI are always prone to a calamity) and I remain hopeful the share price progression will continue the upward trajectory. | catch007
29/3/2021 09:58 | it seems that share price will stay at around the 50p levels, absence of any positive / negative news in the shorter term. Over the next 12 months it could move much higher imo but we'll see. No updates expected until 27 May. | george stobbart
26/3/2021 09:44 | SP holding up, hoping we can break out above and beyond 50p level. | catch007
24/3/2021 23:11 | I agree. Anything other than the info in the trading updates would be "insider" | outsizeclothes.com
24/3/2021 13:29 | I recall this entry last yr which also questioned the integrity of board dealings. george stobbart19 Feb '20 - 15:58 - 1122 of 1805 0 2 0 16-Dec-19 Otto buys 90k shares 20-Dec-19 ATM gets regulatory approval (RNS) 03-Feb-20 Otto buys 20k shares 04-Feb-20 Otto buys 30k shares 05-Feb-20 New ATM gets product certification 06-Feb-20 Otto buys 40k shares Looks like he knows what he's doing! Directors and other PDMRs must not deal in shares during a ‘close period’, that is the period of 60 days before the announcement of annual results or the publication of the annual report (or, if shorter, the period from the end of the financial year to the announcement or publication). In the case of half-year results, it is the time between the end of the half year and the date of publication. These rules can be broken only where the person wanting to deal does not in fact have any inside information and can show they are in severe financial difficulty or there are other exceptional circumstances (such as a legal requirement to sell). In that case, the FSA has to be consulted before permission is given. So there is no mention of TUs , and the next prelims are May 27th, so this deal is not inside the closed period. | wad collector
22/3/2021 22:06 | To me the fact that the share sale took place says that the results must be the same as the trading update. If there were any nasty surprizes coming up the sale could/would be illegal. The director who sold at 24p last Sept was Wim Geens, and it was only 30k shares, so small. | outsizeclothes.com
22/3/2021 15:35 | Dodgy, but not important. I still remember another director's sale at 26p last year. Their choice, but not reflective of where the share price is going. Maybe they needed the money desperately? | 8robson

16/3/2021 20:40 | Hi all, My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast last week and part of our discussion includes RWI and the concept of the ‘Circular Economy’ and how RWI fits into this. As always we also chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing and Portfolio Management. Specific topics in this one include the risks of anonymous Twitter Accounts and the devious tricks the ‘owners’ get up to, and we give examples of our own Trades and how we have Scaled in and Scaled out etc. Anyway, if you use Youtube, Apple, Audioboom, Overcast, Google+ or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 44) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, we try to keep them light and they are totally unscripted, with the intent being that it is like you are eavesdropping on us having a chat down the local boozer (we can dream !!). Cheers, WD @wheeliedealer | thewheeliedealer |
