30/5/2017 08:50 | Pug that is not a shock... why would you install million of gas boilers burning fossil fuels even though they produce electric, when you can have cheap clean electricity, they always reminded me of another Imergy, plenty of shouting but nothing really to shout about.... I always thought they would eventually go to the wall...we wait and see once the money tree dies... | dlg3
30/5/2017 08:40 | Hydrogen was financed by the petrochemical industry, they new it was a none starter, it was too expensive, that is why they pumped billions into the development of Hydrogen....it managed to delay the green revolution by about 20 years...what a result for the petrochemical industry!!!, but now they know they have to embrace renewables or go to the wall, that is why BP and Shell were at the above conferance.. | dlg3
30/5/2017 08:40 | dig3:- You have the wrong FLOW - Reference is to Flow group (epic FLOW)- The UK boiler company which appears to abe in big trouble - Please read the link above and you will see the ref to Jabil - Just pointing out that Jabil do not always call correctly !!! | pugugly
30/5/2017 08:36 | IMT let me see it takes nearly 3 times the amount of electricity to produce one unit of hydrogen, why not just store the 3 units of electricity instead of converting to hydrogen then have it to burn to produce electricity???? what is the maintainence cost of a vanadium flow battery? virtually zero.... now what is the cost of maintaining a hydrogen plant??? lots and lots !!!! a clue could be there somewhere.. | dlg3
30/5/2017 08:31 | yes Pug that has been covered many times, RedFlow were a couple of years away from market at the time and still in development so Jabil called it a day...Sir John Samuels a director of REDT used to work on Zinc Bromine flow battery,s but moved over to Vanadium, why??? | dlg3
30/5/2017 08:27 | dig3:_ Fully agree with you the storage market will be HUGE - Just trying, as you know, to short list potential winners not also runs. Flow systems have many advantages but not yet showing signs of significant traction plus new technoligies being trumpeted all the time (most of which will probably fail) As for Jabil they were also involved with that failure FLOW and agreement now appears terminated. I would also possibly consider ITM as a potential also run in respect of surplus geen energy to Hydrogen and then refomed to electricity - Though may stll go somewhere as a source of H2 for fuel cells - It that technology is a winner (Declaration I hold some ITM from float but little confidence in current management) | pugugly
30/5/2017 07:57 | I posted this the other day, I see no Chinese involvement, but I do see many african countries, India, many European countries and BP and Shell, there right in the middle of those great organisations I see Camco..... NOW WHERE DO WE START WITH THIS ONE.....MORE BRASS AT THIS PARTY THAN i CAN LIST, WILL LIST THE IMPORTANT ONES FIRST THE MOST IMPORTANT.. Sinclair , Geoff MANAGING DIRECTOR | CAMCO CLEAN ENERGY London United Kingdom | dlg3
30/5/2017 07:52 | Pug not saying that HPX are stupid, I was just pointing out that they are the same company, not another competitor... but also answer this why would a world class act like Jabil Circuit choose REDT over many others from around the world. The storage market will be huge and many players will benifit and REDT included in that..... | dlg3
30/5/2017 07:21 | Well, glad I posted, I was awry in not looking at the date, but the responses were useful. Looking for quality, scope value , and quantity of declared order book to have the ability to support a price in early teens upwards by end November. | alchemy
30/5/2017 07:03 | VRFB market set to be worth sibstanatial amounts short term and we are not targeting that market? Who knows There's no published price, it's a huge market place that will have more then one player anyway. Additionally we have some big investors here also BTW. | dogrunner11
30/5/2017 06:20 | dig3: Please answer one question - Why would HPX with very impressive management invest in a Chinese flow battery company - Robert Friedland and Eric Finlayson are no idiots and have extensive business experience, unless they considered the Chines best in class ? HPX are a private company so at the moment unable to tell if it is their own cash but looks as though it may be. | pugugly

29/5/2017 21:41 | Pugugly... there is one important peice you have missed, Jabil chose REDT because they were the best and most advanced....they looked at many companies and technologies, then they chose REDT...Jabil Circuit have factories in China I would be sure they would have checked there also, had the Chinese tech been upo to scratch they would have had a cheap workforce to hand, but they still chose REDT WHY ???????? Answer that question and you have the answer to many... | dlg3

29/5/2017 21:21 | Pug I beleive pu neng energy is another company of Rongke energy, they also go by the name of UET energy and vanadis energy... pu neng energy web-site about 5 months old... cross referance what they are claiming, just the same as Rongke and UET... | dlg3
29/5/2017 19:44 | Looks like we have 2 different companies - Dongfang (as per dog's post 1287) is in Chengdu whereas Puneng is in Tongzhou - See link for map - They are also claiming technology is patented - Interesting. financial backing is impressive and American -" High Power Exploration (HPX) is a privately owned, metals-focused exploration company that also invests in minerals-dependent, high-growth emerging technologies. HPX has a highly experienced board and management team led by Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert Friedland, Founder & Executive Chairman of Ivanhoe Mines, and President Eric Finlayson, a former head of exploration at Rio Tinto. 29/5/2017 19:41 | Puggly, nobody has said there's no competition in this market, so far we have the cheapest product but more importantly with market set to that vast all players should be able to take a share of that, allow me: - Competitive Landscape Flow Batteries Aside from redT energy (RED LN)#, we believe the companies with the most developed vanadium flow storage systems are Gildemeister energy solutions and Sumitomo (8053 JP), with both having made commercial sales. However, although Gildemeister has had first mover advantage in terms of commercial sales, its storage system is significantly more expensive than RED’s due to its more complicated design, with the price of its battery unlikely to significantly fall in the near term. Sumitomo on the other hand are focusing on producing bespoke large scale MW storage systems meaning it is a targeting a slightly different market to RED (although it is due to release a shipping container version at some point). However, the most important thing to note is that the demand for energy storage is forecasted to grow so strongly that, as long as no other technology suddenly usurps vanadium flow, there will be multiple winners in this space rather than just one company dominating. In addition to RED and Sumitomo, other listed-peers in the flow battery sector are Redflow (RFX AU) and EnSync (ESNC US), which both use a zinc-bromine electrolyte, a technology that has had significant issues with degradation and short cycle life in the past. Arotech (ARTX US) also operates flow battery subsidiary, Electric Fuel Energy, which uses an iron-based electrolyte. | dogrunner11
29/5/2017 18:46 | The company showed the Premier its technologies and products for hydropower, nuclear power, gas turbines and batteries using new forms of energy. Premier Li said it was the first time he had seen Chinese-made equipment for fuel cells and gas turbines. However, on seeing the company's vanadium redox battery, a rechargeable battery that uses vanadium ions to store potential chemical energy, he told the engineers of a smaller, more efficient VRB that he saw in the UK. He also shared his knowledge of German hydrogen battery stations when engineers showed their latest achievements in this field. | dogrunner11
29/5/2017 17:47 | Bid still holding 0.5p above last placing - Will it hold ? Check fireplace22 link above - The Chinese are now in the market players with a proven system - We all know what they did to the US and European producers of silicon and solar cells - Could the writing be on the wall for US and European producers of flow batteries ? | pugugly |
