23/4/2010 09:29 | News releases from Africa Oil "We are now preparing for a drilling campaign [in Puntland] due to commence later in 2010 following the rainy season." Rainfall in southern Somalia is bimodal, that is, there are two rainy seasons. Rainfall from April through August affecting Somalia's main harvest in September/October is called the "gu" rains. Sometimes these are also referred to as the "long rains". So we should a rig mobilisation schedule mid-summer and drilling in Autumn. Happy days. | twissso
23/4/2010 09:23 | I think the lock on his bedsit door must have broken and he can't get out. He only has his computer for company, so to pass the time he makes up these little stories. Sad really. | contra

22/4/2010 11:10 | notarealdr, Good point. As a private co, its upto them whether it should be released - they are the operator of the acreage so they call the shots. I'm sure RRL will know what the contents of that report are & push for it to be released. I hope we here something soon or we are given indications of why its not been released as of yet ...(still acquiring acreage etc). I don't think it will be kept under wraps without good reason. 22/4/2010 11:03 | surely they have to release it though, no? | mingle3
22/4/2010 11:02 | Cash'n,I do not know why Crest would wish to keep reserves to themselves except to observe as a private company they can. Maybe they conclude if we want to release such info we can pay for the report oursleves. Do they have ambitions beyond the present acreage held? Perhaps they do. | notarealdr
22/4/2010 11:00 | Thanks notarealdr, the only reason Creast do not want it released is that as cash stated that they after more land. | hulk2004
22/4/2010 10:54 | notarealdr, Firstly, how do you know that? Secondly, IF true, why would they do that? ....do they have grand ambitions beyond 1,680k acreage? I'd really like to see that reserve report. Cash | cashandcard
22/4/2010 10:34 | Steelwatch, don't take the dog out for a walk (PWhite) when it's not necessary as it'll only want to do number 2's again.:) hulk (9305), problem with reserve report is not of our doing. Crest have the completed reserve report but do not give permission for its release. Range advisors are preparing their own report for dissemination. | notarealdr
22/4/2010 09:26 | Bovvered, am I bovvered? Lol. I would imagine Peter Landau has some very nice RNS results to declare to one and all to the benefit of all shareholders. We have a party starting. At least the strength since the RI and general upbeat tone prior to and just after Xmas indicates one is on its way! Topicel | topicel

22/4/2010 07:24 | PWhite73 - 21 Apr'10 - 08:57 - 15093 of 15166 (premium) The selling has not dried up. Nothing rises or falls in a straight line. There will be moments in the down trend when the shares tick up. It does not mean the end of the downward trend. Buyers at new lows will in turn be nursing losses like yourselves. All along I have been on your side as a fellow private investor in AIM stocks. The fact that we had differing opinions on Solo does not make us enemies. Shareholders are owed an explanation from the directors of Solo Oil as to what is the overall strategy from here given the recent poor results from Likonde-1. Up yours Psycho! | steelwatch

21/4/2010 20:20 | Erm, no sh1t. The two other pay zones need to be flow tested to determine if they're commerical. That was my point. And you do NEED that information an independant to sign off, he won't do so with wireline logs alone. Pressure could be different, there would be water contact etc. What is this, teach Twissso a lesson day, geezus. | twissso
21/4/2010 18:39 | Twissso - when the last well is shut in at the end of commercial field life, that's when you KNOW the reserves for a field ;-) Until then, any reserves assessment is an estimate taking into the prevailing economic conditions and the known and assumed field performance and properties. You can build a reserves estimate at any stage - but the more you know about a field, the more accurate your estimate is likely to be. So you don't NEED flow information from the other zones, if you have the logs across the entire section and you know the dynamic performance of the producing zone so you can extrapolate. But of course, if you have that flow evidence, investors could have more confidence in the figures. So it's a balance of how long do you wait. But they've promised an official, independent reserves estimate, and at some stage they have to bite the bullet and issue it. | spangle93 |
