21/4/2010 13:29 | twissso, as you say "you never know." Things do change. | greatfull dead
21/4/2010 13:26 | You'd think that whoever is writting the reserve report would insist on obtaining data from the other two zones. The delay could be down to having to shut in Smith#1 for completion. It would take a couple of days to frac the well then as it's onshore, extended flow rate testing could be expected. Announcement *could* cover completion of Smith#1, flow rates from three zones and second well spud. You never know. | twissso
21/4/2010 12:59 | Cptn. I agree it's not arguing , just mass debating Potts | pottingon
21/4/2010 12:57 | Twisso, Sure, the more wells that RRL bring to production the easier it will become for them to progress Georgia and ultimately Puntland. I would tend to use a mix of valuation of reserves and cash flow. An empowered elbow is an expression that I've heard in the past meaning if that's what you want to do, go for it. :) Captain Nelson Forties | captainnelsonforties
21/4/2010 12:48 | CNF, The principles you're applying are a little rigid for a small cap oiler IMO so I'll consider my elbow empowered, whatever the f$£k means lol. My calculations are based on placing a value on the cash flow from North Chapman. This is more important than a field valuation IMO the purpose of the asset is to generate cash for other projects. But WTFDIK. | twissso
21/4/2010 12:39 | Top up time. I'm still confident of news this week, but even if it doesn't arrive, who cares? Smith is merely the canvas of the trampoline wait till we engage some Punty/Georgia elastic! Boing boing | poisson rouge
21/4/2010 12:37 | From 16 March RNS "It is anticipated that completion of an independent reserves report on the Smith #1 well will be completed in the coming weeks with the results announced once available." Please note the word "anticipated" Definition from TheFreeDictionary online! Usage Note: Some people hold that anticipate is improperly used as a simple synonym for expect; they would restrict its use to situations in which advance action is taken either to forestall (anticipate her opponent's next move) or to fulfill (anticipate my desires). In earlier surveys, however, a majority of the Usage Panel accepted the use of anticipate to mean "to feel or to realize beforehand" and "to look forward to." The word unanticipated, however, is not established as a synonym for unexpected. Thus 77 percent of the Usage Panel rejected the sentence They always set aside a little extra food for unanticipated guests, inasmuch as guests for whom advance provision has been made cannot be said to be unanticipated, though they may very well be unexpected. | greatfull dead
21/4/2010 12:29 | Some punters being mugged here how many times have you seen it, they drop the price before the news ? | shrule
21/4/2010 12:29 | Definition of few. | greatfull dead
21/4/2010 12:26 | PL stated 1 to 2 weeks. That means now, by my reckoning. | shugmonkey
21/4/2010 12:20 | CNF,problem is RRL in there company update 16/03 stated reserve report completed in a few weeks and results announced once obtained, for PI`s that means about 2 weeks ago!. I hate it when oil company`s give time frames, they are better of over estimating time frames, ie Range could have stated in the coming months rather than weeks. | hulk2004
21/4/2010 11:58 | Twisso, Not twisting anything around, folks who have been investing in oil and gas stocks for many years will know exactly what I'm saying. Yes you were making an assumption that RRL would be valued at NPV. I suggest using a NPV10 or 15, if you wish to continue to use NPV to value oil stocks more power to your elbow. ;) But if I disagree with a post I will say so, especially when I have a reasonably high interest and support free debate on these BB's. Its better for companies to under promise and over deliver, they will have the highest returns. 2187, Hot money may be getting tired waiting for Texas, but I care little for hot money. Folks on other oil and gas companies do usually have to wait for a year for a reserve reports, or longer. The fact that RRL developed Smith so quickly and moved towards an independent report so quickly they're an absolute race horse in comparison. Potters, No arguing here, just a difference of opinion on the NAV and valuation of oil and gas companies based on undeveloped reserves. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, these bb's are for free speech after all and if we all agreed it would be rather dull. Captain Nelson Forties | captainnelsonforties
21/4/2010 11:39 | Hilow everybody So we C What a 2do has been caused by trying to Guesstermate what may issue 4th From 1 hole. I have reserve-ations 'bout doing just so. So we may B better of with 2 holes Better we try 2 procrastinate 'till then Then A guesstermate, will B more like a estimate, mate 10p or not 10p that is the question No need to argue if we all agree, 2 Wait N C 1st Potts. | pottingon
21/4/2010 11:35 | We are in fact closer to significant share price movements than we have ever been I thought that in Feb 09 | mister1
21/4/2010 11:00 | CNF, You should have been refering to me as being in fairyland because by the sounds of it I was!! Right you are, there is certainly plenty of upside in this stock up further significant milestones coming to light I think we are all becoming a little tired of waiting to the Texas report Patience will certainly reward shareholders Anyway, I'm over my little hissy fit And mingle, you are very right, we are all in this together! We are in fact closer to significant share price movements than we have ever been jr | 2187
21/4/2010 10:06 | I'm valuing these assets based on an assumption that they will be developed by Range and Crest. This has been made clear on three occassions now but you keep twisting it around. So to that I say, whatever. | twissso |
