28/2/2024 11:46 | BP and Shell have done endless share buybacks in the past and the shares have gone nowhere. They are still worth what they were 25 years ago. It is true that if the shares are cancelled there are less shares in issue but the problem is the cash has gone - it has been spent on nothing and evaporated into thin air. Dividends are a much better route. | kibes
28/2/2024 05:51 | But to my mind a divi would be more appreciated by the small investor. Buy backs are for the board and the Institutions imo, scratching each others backs. | johnrxx99
27/2/2024 13:25 | These share buybacks will be cancelled - it says so in every RNS. Less shares in circulation increases the value of the remaining shares. Plus they seem to be generating lots of cash so they will soon replenish the pot. I think buybacks are a safer route than making acquisitions just for the sake of it and potentially buying a duff company. tbh I haven't been too enthused with what they've bought in the past. | someuwin
27/2/2024 13:04 | I have never seen share buybacks work. If the company is worth £x with £y held in cash and they spend all the cash on buying shares back then all the cash is gone and the company is then worth £x - £y. And usually they just hold onto the shares they have bought and don't cancel them. I don't get it. Why do it? | kibes
25/2/2024 10:38 | Yes Blackhorse is a real pest. Been looking at qq for a while..... Suet | suetballs

22/2/2024 17:20 | Blackhorse23 is pumping CURY, GNC, APH and no doubt other companies, in which he probably has a holding. | tday

15/2/2024 17:46 | The major NATO exercise over the next few months may help. | bigbertie1
14/2/2024 10:57 | Looks like this is finally going to break out of the last 2 yrs trading range. The muted share price performance has remained a mystery to me. Hold and prosper? | wad collector
12/2/2024 02:36 | BedfordI'm struggling to unpack the double or even treble negative in that comment. For simple souls like me please explain what you value the share price at. Thanks in advance. | tournesol
12/2/2024 02:04 | Bedford1976 - how do you calculate that please? | johnrxx99
10/2/2024 15:19 | I would not be surprised if the share price does not reach £4.50 - £5 with the share buyback in progress. Even at £5 the shares are pretty cheap for the sector. | bedford1976
06/2/2024 13:11 | Resolution passed. £100m Share buyback to start tomorrow. | someuwin
23/1/2024 18:18 | It's nice to see QinetiQ getting some recognition I've long thought this firm to be the real star of the defence sector. Expect the share price to move forward strongly. | bedford1976

23/1/2024 08:37 | No Raytheon not in the DragonFire consortium lead by MBDA, QQ & Leonardo. Note QQ CEO is ex CEO of MBDA. | chipfire
23/1/2024 08:20 | If 350p breaks, 370-380 possible | johndoe23
22/1/2024 03:23 | Is the DragonFire system the same as the Raytheon one? No mention of Raytheon in 1512 and 1514 articles but as they are testing in one of the wettest locations in the UK it's fair to assume it is weatherproof. | johnrxx99
20/1/2024 23:37 | Brilliant. Thanks. | wjccghcc
20/1/2024 17:17 | The Raytheon system does. "The high-energy laser weapon system has performed as designed in multiple field tests, including in difficult weather conditions with extreme heat, cold, rain, sleet and snow." | valhamos |
