locally on the ground the cash collection is a shambles with countless collectors defecting to to the competition..lending business has no value ( acknowledged by own broker) - and rising debts on all fronts, countless debt write offs which are not recorded locally ,and certainly not acknowledged by the company, credit card business under investigation which will cost the company, and provi will run out of funds within 6 months -- so profit warning 3 will come and the share price can only go one way ...south.

Well, been a cracking 2 days, however, there has to be a retrace, thought it might be today. I note there was a fall in the share price at the end of trading today where the last 2 days there was buying into the close, significant ?
Sub 700p tomorrow.

I put my thinking cap on and came up with 1000p as fair value on the assumption that the losses in Home Service are ended this year and HSD breaks even in 2018/19. My best scenario is that that the directors throw in the towel and close down HSD completely. My fear is that they will battle on against a computer system that is clearly not fit for purpose, disgruntled staff and poor collection rates. Pouring more money and management time into a failing part of the business will destroy shareholder value, but this is about a stubborn refusal to accept where the business is now rather than where it was 8 months ago. PFG is a perfectly respectable business with Vanquis and Moneybarn which are both growing strongly and produced £235.6m adjusted PBT in 2016 i.e. 70% of the total. Simply put PFG need the Home Service Business like a hole in the head. I sold out today on the expectation of more bad news to come, and the 1000p is not going to happen any time soon. I still hold some notes however as no matter how bad things get there will be break up value to repay them. Probably my most negative post ever as I don't post on those shares I don't hold and only hold shares I expect to rise.

agreed - even with the bad news this week the Company has a good track record and most divisions generate a healthy prfit, like DC this was way overdone
