A Barryroe update this morning but whilst it is good news it isn’t the piece we are all waiting for. The good news is that the Minister of State has given permission for the JV to undertake a seabed debris clearance and site survey over the Barryroe field which will commence next month if, and it’s a big if, they receive the moulah from the Orient

Barryroe site survey permission received is step forward

The drawn-out process to obtain site survey permission is finally complete, with Providence announcing that it has received permission to proceed. Subject to funding, the survey will start later this month. While funding arrangements still have to be completed, the fact that the first step to drilling the field next year is in place should be welcomed by the market.

If the future for Barryroe is so rosy, specul82, how come NO oil major has farmed into Barryroe since Exxon/Esso discovered it back in 1972 and soon walked away declaring it uncommercial? There have been 5 wells in total drilled on Barryroe since Exxon first discovered oil. These wells flowed oil so why has it never produced commercially despite it's discovery almost 50 years ago?

It's great the survey has been approved. Unfortunately when the share price drops by 40% it has to rise by 66.66% to recover back to the same position.That is what is needed here and that only brings us back to pre news levels.Let us hope that we don't get a fundraise announcement with the permit announced in an RNS tomorrow.Thsre is a bad stench in the air about the last RNS and our Tone doesn't have any wage security in the bank. So let's face it ,It's coming.Hopefully at higher levels but that is not the way these people do business.We are indeed T5ed up to the butt.If it is as promising as claimed I reckon they will take a stake. At least the lads know how to bring in revenue unlike our boy wonder .We will see.Boy is this dragging out.Its onl fun if one is in profit.GLALTH

Im sure that whilst the Chinese have deposited the money there will be a clause stating that it is only to be released once the permit has been granted.
Hopefully back up to 12p+ tomorrow.
