02/11/2021 20:17 | John To late mate spike already happened now they got a speeding ticket so prepare for drop. | grahamwales
02/11/2021 15:01 | Tyres are very much on the cards to be used as DMG feedstock in the future, and a lot of testing has been done on this at the Thornton prototype system. Tyres have to be shredded first before they can be fed into the DMG, but I gather that a large percentage of waste tyres go to landfill and have to be shredded before they can be landfilled. But PHE decided to focus on waste plastic initially because a) plastic produces more energy than tyres and b) waste plastic is causing more damage to the environment than tyres at the moment because it is in the rivers, oceans, and indeed over the land. So cleaning up the plastic is probably more urgent initially than tyres. | vatnabrekk
02/11/2021 12:49 | So waste plastic and tyres are always going to there. I actually deal with a tyre recycling company but they send them to be used in road construction. I know tyres are also used in a cement plant furnace which isn’t really green. | grahamwales
02/11/2021 12:22 | They use waste road tyres too which I a great bonus and further down the line when hopefully less worldwide plastic packaging will still have plenty of feedstock | moontheloon
02/11/2021 10:43 | Here's an article that compares electric with hydrogen powered cars... Are hydrogen cars better than electric cars? | megsta
02/11/2021 10:27 | Vatnabrekk How feasible is it for them to use tyres in this method of producing Hydrogen instead of plastics. Noticed it mentioned somewhere. I assume any products that have various amounts of oil in them can be used. | grahamwales
02/11/2021 10:07 | With Cummins engine on board looking a lot better for truck manufacturers to obtain hydrogen engines. | grahamwales
02/11/2021 09:43 | Merc and BP. Not a massive amount of Mercedes trucks in the uk compared to other manufacturers but it’s a great start especially with BP on board. Also going to need more than 25 stations by 2030 to make any inroads for hydrogen but it’s a start and others will no doubt follow | grahamwales
02/11/2021 08:46 | Spot on Graham. | vatnabrekk
02/11/2021 08:16 | EV is fine for cars but certainly won’t work in trucks. | grahamwales
02/11/2021 08:15 | MYU Also what it needs is a manufacturer ideally a truck manufacturer to take up the reins and start producing hydrogen vehicles. Someone like Volvo or Renault similar to what Tesla done. Chicken and egg situation no point having Hydrogen with nothing to put it in and visa versa. Just listened Andrew Forrest interview whilst I agree green energy should be used to produce hydrogen fact is there just isn’t enough green energy to keep our homes going let alone industry. If they start using this green energy to produce hydrogen that will have a knock on effect and result in more fossil fuel being used for domestic use. The more hydrogen that can be produced from waste the less that has to be produced from green energy. There must be other waste materials that can be used to produce hydrogen. | grahamwales
02/11/2021 07:12 | I agree Graham, and one way to do this is if each garage that sell a hydrogen car/van offer a refuelling station, even if it is for one or two cars. I still see hydrogen as the future, not EV. | myu_qpr
01/11/2021 23:26 | One of the reasons EV’s took off was due to Tesla championing charging stations. I chose a Tesla mainly based on the amount of Superchargers available around the country. What hydrogen needs is a similar champion to push forward refuelling stations combined with hydrogen vehicles. I’m sure that will happen and whoever takes up the challenge first will be the biggest winner much bigger than what Tesla has become. | grahamwales
01/11/2021 23:10 | What’s the chances of PHE breaking into America or is there a system already in place over via competition | grahamwales
01/11/2021 20:10 | From what I can make out JCB are trying to be the TESLA of the construction industry vehicles. They are aware that for contractors to start using Hydrogen they need a constant supply that is local to where they are working. Mining and construction sites for instance either have bowsers that take the fuel to the machines or large tanks located on site. Not looked yet but anyone found if hydrogen can be stored in tanks above ground and how safe are they. | grahamwales
01/11/2021 16:39 | Expect to see companies like CAT Hitachi etc to follow JCB and switch to hydrogen for construction equipment | grahamwales
01/11/2021 16:19 | Well share nearly back where we started this morning so not as bad as posters on LSE made out. News should be positive from here on in | grahamwales
01/11/2021 15:50 | We did indeed Graham! | vatnabrekk
01/11/2021 15:05 | There is at least one meeting at COP for HUI and PHE. The name of a dynamic CEO for PHE would be so welcome??? | zeppo
01/11/2021 14:39 | Think we did touch on this last night lol | grahamwales
01/11/2021 13:59 | I think the share price is holding up well considering the lacklustre RNS. | vatnabrekk |
