Distributed Modular Gasification © has this term been copyrighted by the company as the © has been used on RNS?

Where is a publicly available document so that the terms can be examined in order not to breach any of the copyright?

The copyright symbol is used on RNS for example 31 July and 8 August and also in the 2016 audited accounts.

You are right, I do as far as possible focus on facts not emotions.

Don't expect too much technical information from PHE - it is probably commercially sensitive. As an investor, what is more important are things like independent validations, certifications, rollout deals and likely revenues (scale, reliability, etc). Remember they got certifications and CE accreditation for the large Pyromex system in stringent Germany, and whatever was needed in Australia to demonstrate the original Gen3, so I see no reason why they should not get them for the improved Gen3 in the UK. If you are interested in technicals, go to the demonstration next month and ask as many questions as you feel necessary. As an investment it should get better and better over time, as the business model involves retaining ownership so yielding an ever increasing and predictable income stream that grows cumulatively with each new unit. Should give capital gains and pay a nice dividend at some point.

How you view KA is entirely up to you. In PHE's case its also things like the technological breakthrough, certifications, clean technology, businesss model, initial partnering, competitive advantage, and wider society moves away from fossil fuels and landfill, and towards hydrogen and local power generation, that will ultimately be the drivers.

NewT - I understand your position, and I respect the fact that, unlike Warwick, you argue as far as possible from facts not emotions, and don't simply sink into harangue and wishful thinking.

However, in the absence of reliable technical or financial data, I remain negative about the company, and even more so about the prospects for current shareholders. I'd be surprised if there weren't some trading profits to be made along the way, but as a long term investment proposition, to my mind it remains deeply unattractive.

It's long been a religious debate here - either one has faith in the Messiah Allaun, or one is sceptical about the whole enterprise. I'm with Richard Feynman, who, when asked what he believed in, replied 'I believe in doubt'...

I tend to come down on the side of 'supernumerary'

I am sure like most here we would like to see this succeed. However, all we have so far is what the CEO has told us, should we take this at face value, or is it a case of wait and see.

Anybody with engineering or scientific background would need proof, proof of prototype and which I am sure has already been designed or CAD drawings for a 25tpd commercial system..if scaling up prototype doesn't have any material differences other than size then in theory it should work, prototype is key here....

Its a gamble, look like some are taking that gamble...GL

PowerHouse Energy Group Plc
PHE Collaboration Agreement of up to £500,000
5 June 2017

PowerHouse Energy Group Plc (AIM: PHE), the company focused on ultra high temperature gasification waste to energy systems, and the creation of Distributed Modular Gasification© (DMG), is delighted to announce a collaboration agreement with a UK partner involved in the development of energy and waste projects.

Subject to achieving certain performance milestones of the G3-UHt demonstration unit sited at Thornton Science Park and to entering into an option to lease land to site the units, the partner has committed two tranches of funding of up to £500,000 in aggregate to meet the cost of preparing and funding applications for planning permission and environmental permits of the initial demonstration unit and first five PHE Waste-to-Energy G3-UHt systems.

The agreement will require PowerHouse to supply five systems at locations of the partners' choosing on a prioritised basis, based upon the completion of UK Certifications and demonstration of the G3-UHt unit in active operation.

Keith Allaun, Executive Chairman of PowerHouse, said: “It is gratifying and reassuring to have attracted a significant and large corporate partner to work with PHE and Waste2tricity Ltd in rolling out Distributed Modular Gasification© in the UK. DMG systems allow for the environmentally responsible conversion of waste into electricity and the creation of distributed hydrogen for commercial uses. This event marks a turning point in the commercial development of the Company. Our engineering team continues to meet its objectives and we look forward to the public demonstration of the G3-UHt system in the coming period."

Presumably Peel would wait to finalise the arrangement until after Certification of the Gen3 later this month or next month.

Just also read this:

PHE Annual Report
16/6/2017

"The G3-UHt unit was designed with expansion in mind. Effectively interlocking
and leveraging both front-end and back-end balance of plant components, the latest designs of the G3-UHt system allow us to scale with reduced risk. We know that the 25tpd redesign works, and we are in the process of initiating the engineering work for our first commercial DMG system, based on the success of the G3-UHt.

With the advent of significant advances in material science, our revised
heating design is substantially more efficient - improving the thermal efficacy
of the system as a whole. The specially formulated and manufactured reactor
chambers are immune to the corrosive threats previous technologies faced- thus
increasing the lifespan of a reactor vessel.

The simplification of the control systems, using advances in programmable logic
controller knowledge, and the understanding of total system operation, has led
to a dramatic reduction in manufacturing expense. This has also led to an
increased ease of operation, the elimination of potential points of failure, and enhanced safety features for the system as a whole.

The modular G3UHt units, with smaller footprints than other commercial
technologies, remain ideally suited for local, or neighbourhood, transfer
stations, and are appropriately sized for integration into the community and
the expansion of the distributed Grid, and the unlocking of the hydrogen
economy.

The Directors are enthusiastic about the DMG technology and recognize that the
G3-UHt system has the potential to be one of the most robust, cost-effective,
operationally efficient, and flexible gasification systems on the market."

Keith Allaun Interview (1/8/23017)

3 min 50 sec sec:
“If one looks at some of the things that have happened in the industry and in materials science, 3 years ago components of the G3 unit didnt exist, various materials that we are able to use now that resist the corrosive effects of ultra-high temperature, and we are now able to utilise in the G3.”

4 min 47 sec:
“We have a number of industrial partners who are keen to engage with use particularly in the use of distributed hydrogen as road fuel.”

6 min 52 sec
“We are looking at breaking ground on our first commercial operation within the next 8 to 12 months and we are completely confident.”

9 min 38 sec.
“our targets continue to grow upwards...we are the only mechanism that allows you to produce distributed hydrogen from waste...a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle allows you to recharge in about 3 minutes…lithium iron will take you about 30 - 45 minutes"

“We can solve the waste problem locally … in a way that no other technology can.” Can “deliver and have it up and running and fully commissioned within 6 months”

PHE doesn't have 'systems' it has a work-in-progress prototype. What a production system might do once it's been designed and built is a moot point - at the moment it's just an Allaun fantasy so he can make any claims he likes.

As for the principles of the design, as far as I can see (which isn't very far given the dearth of information provided by the company), they only replicate the process already implemented by eg Plasma Power, but as a 1-stage rather than a 2-stage process, so can't really make any special claims for the output.

Personally I'm dubious it will ever work reliably, but I suppose once they've built it and run it for 5,000 hours we'll all have a better idea. Should any of us live that long...

PHE recycle waste into clean energy and reduce landfill.

PHE's systems are not incinerators (which produce carbon dioxide waste) and utilise the organic wastes that would otherwise be sent to landfill, as KA confirms in the interview today. PHE's systems demolecularise the waste into basic elements, e.g. hydrogen, which can be used to cleanly generate electricity and power fuel cells.

Meanwhile, back in the real world:

Burning policy puts pressure on recycling targets
By Roger Harrabin
BBC environment analyst

A boom in incinerator-building could make it impossible for the UK to meet future targets for recycling, a report says.

The consultancy Eunomia says waste companies constructing new incinerators will need waste to feed them.

And that could reduce Britain’s stated ambition to recycle more waste.

A government spokesman said "great progress" had been made in boosting recycling rates.

But Eunomia’s report says current trends in building incinerators will make a mockery of the ambition of Environment Secretary Michael Gove to achieve a “green Brexit”.

Nikola reveals hydrogen fuel cell truck with range of 1,200 miles
The firm (ironically?) referred to as "the Tesla of trucks" is aiming for a 2020 release.

Tom Mendelsohn - 2/12/2016, 11:56

The Nikola One, which is designed for long-haul good transport across a large landmass, will, according to its creators, be able to travel between 800 and 1,200 miles on a single tank of fuel, while delivering over 1,000 horsepower and 2,000 foot-pounds of torque.

If these claims are true, it will provide nearly double the power of the current generation of diesel-powered semis/articulated lorries.
