04/3/2011 16:57 | Porvair plc in King's Lynn is playing a key role in the production of new clean fuels from first generation nuclear material. Nuclear industry filtration and remediation looks set to trigger global expansion for the group. Porvair provides very high end filtration techniques ideal for mixed oxide (MOX) fuel production manufactured to demanding international standards. The company has just won an order worth more than £500k from an unnamed international client for a glove box and associated filters essential to the MOX production process. The new deal follows a £25 million mixed oxide project in the US last winter. CEO Ben Stocks said the new area of work represented excellent "nuclear and gasification opportunities" for Porvair. A clean-up of first generation nuclear plants and material has hit overdrive in the US where weapons grade plutonium is being successfully filtrated through the kind of remediation technology at which Porvair excels. The company has its HQ in Norfolk and is expanding its operationa in China, which is a prime market for nuclear fuel remediation. It also has a major plant in Hampshire, one in German and three in the States. | liambilson

03/2/2011 15:45 | I too suspect its more to do with paying personal taxation than naked profit taking. In the past we have seen updates around 13 april and 4 june, plus interims around 29 june. Can someone clarify, does the 60 day closed period apply to trading statements as well as interim/finals announcements? If so, some part of closed period, end of tax year, and last chance to pay last years tax might be behind this. Do we have any tax advisors on the thread? As for the rest of it, IMO it still looks a belting good company for long termers planning to stay in. pim | petersinthemarket
03/2/2011 09:56 | Yes exercising options but they have sold most of them to bank their profit. They have sold more than is required to fund the tax on exercise of the options themselves. I suspect when they say they have sold enough to meet their personal taxation liaiblities what they mean is not on the options alone but on their personal tax bills due at 31 Jan to HMRC for their general income tax. | felix99

02/2/2011 20:17 | Ben Stocks has sold 135,500 of these new Porvair Shares at a price of 123 pence per share and Chris Tyler has sold 145,500 of these new Porvair Shares at a price of 123 pence per share in order to meet the cost of exercise and personal taxation liabilities. Just exercising options. | liambilson

25/1/2011 17:03 | not sure about by the end of the week, but I agree with the overall direction. This is an excellent co that looks to do even better in the year to come and might also be a takeover target. perfectly reasonable for people to take profits but today's retrace is also a good opportunity for new people to get on board. | tratante
