06/4/2011 19:45 | Yep, it's all good. This from the FT: Small caps: Porvair advances after good start to year By Neil Hume Published: April 5 2011 20:15 | Last updated: April 5 2011 20:16 Shares in Porvair rallied on Tuesday after the specialist filtration and environmental technology group said it had made a good start to the year and sales and profits were ahead of management expectations. Porvair said sales in the metals filtration business were 14 per cent higher than a year ago, while the mircofiltration division had benefited from a recovery in the aerospace industry. In response, house broker Altium Securities reiterated its "buy" recommendation. "With a 25 per cent drop through in the Metal Filtration division and 40 per cent drop through in microfiltration, if the trend of trading seen in the first four months continues for the rest of the year, there is scope for material upgrades." | raggedglory
06/4/2011 14:48 | Cheers ! I knew as soon as I started selling at 105 the downward spiral would reverse ! This share ticks all the boxes for me and I was surprised at the drop after the great results in Jan. Hopefully, more people will discover PRV andwe will see a sustained forward movemnt from here on. | liambilson

30/3/2011 07:31 | Nuclear power is not something u can just switchoff and Porvair's market in terms of any new plants which take a long tiem to constrauct has not really been impacted. One would assume that while this market will not increase over the next 5 yaers it is only likley to decrease by 10% at max and PRV can probably benwefit from the remainder. Growth story still intact IMO and I rate a buy. | zipstuck
29/3/2011 16:12 | This share is depressing me bigtime. | liambilson
23/3/2011 07:34 | World events.... Nuclear power not exactly flavour of the month at the moment.... General market downtrend.... PRV has had a good run of late.... Uncertainties about the possibility of double dip etc Just a few possibilities.Hopefu | lerocher
23/3/2011 01:59 | Porvair Secures $1M Nuclear Filter Deal March 22, 2011 Porvair Filtration Group has secured a $1,000,000 deal to supply equipment and filters for mixed oxide fuel production to a nuclear industry client, the identity of which has not been made public Despite this, the price appears to be slipping. 20/3/2011 11:46 | Well that was insightful.Did you actually mean to post here? This is the PORVAIR thread. Regards and thanks to you, too. | raggedglory
18/3/2011 21:08 | raggedglory - Cheers, I got in here recently on the drop after results looked liked a good entry point. Tempted to add some more. All the best. | acefromspace
18/3/2011 19:44 | There'll be a period of collective hand-wringing until the reactors are brought under control. Expect that to manifest itself as short term noise around the share price The sentiment is and will be unjustified, of course, since Porvair's nuclear-related contracts comprise as yet a relatively minor strand within the company's overall business. Useful buying opportunity , though. | raggedglory
18/3/2011 12:25 | Any potential impact here from the Japan nuclear fall out? | acefromspace |
