Israel records births an deaths, and causes of death!
Israel knows exactly how many were killed, and probably by whom (Israeli blue on blue /Palestinians). Clearly they do not consider that providing that information to the world will advance their cause.

Hundreds of dead is shocking, but they feel they need thousands to justify genocide. the world does not agree that even thousands justify genocide. Macron has now spoken out. How long before other western leaders do so too?

Eastern Slavs = European Russia, Belarus and Southern Ukraine. It seems to me Putin is trying to unite the Eastern Slavs into a single homeland which many of the Eastern Slavs want to see happen in a similar way the Kurds of the Middle East would like to have a single homeland of their own.

What I've never been able to understand is why for 170 years the British establishment has such shear hatred of Russia which via propaganda and deliberate disinformation has also spread this hatred and fear of Russia into the psyche of the British population in general.

“I wonder of the 1400 figure was also grossly inflated?”

They've now revised it down to 1200. Unlikely it was actually such a round number, and since they were clearly rounding up, a lot, when they said 1400 I presume they're rounding up now. Probably it'll end up 681 soldiers killed by Hamas in legitimate and lawful resistance to occupation, and a couple of hundred civilians killed by the IDF firing indiscriminately at anything that moved.

But that is such a terrible crime Israel has the right to massacre babies by the thousand in self defence and demolish churches schools hospitals and apartment blocks.

I hate to say it but when Zelensky eventually goes into exile he'll feel right at home in Israel.

It will be the end of the dollar if they try that. Foreign reserves held in US Treasuries have already fallen dramatically since the Ukraine sanctions were imposed. What is the value in owning an asset if the USA regards is as its own, any time it feels like helping itself to it?

Speaker Mike Johnson floats confiscating Russian assets to fund Ukraine war aid: 'It would be pure poetry'

Speaker Johnson continues to signal openness to more Ukraine aid, despite past opposition.

He's now floating confiscating billions in Russian government assets to pay for it.

But most of that money is held in overseas banks, complicating the approach.

House Speaker Mike Johnson is suggesting that the US should confiscate assets owned by the Russian government to pay for more aid to Ukraine.

"It would be pure poetry to fund the Ukrainian war effort with Russian assets," Johnson told the New York Post.

"As you can imagine, that idea has been met with great enthusiasm on the Republican side," he continued. "I suspect it will be with our colleagues on the other side as well. It's an eminently responsible thing for us to do."

It's not as straightforward as it sounds.

Lawmakers have introduced bills to confiscate Russian government assets for Ukraine, such as the Rebuilding Economic Prosperity and Opportunity (REPO) for Ukrainians Act. But that bill is aimed at funding Ukraine's eventual reconstruction, rather than military aid.

Roughly $300 billion in Russian Central Bank assets have been frozen globally since the country's February 2022 invasion of Ukraine — but two-thirds of that money sits in European accounts, not American accounts.

Furthermore, confiscating those assets comes with significant risks, including hurting both the dollar and Euro's stature as major reserve currencies, strengthening domestic support in Russia for the war, and potentially violating international laws.

Nonetheless, it would be the latest attempt by Johnson to offset foreign aid spending, a relatively novel approach that's been met with skepticism from Democrats and even some Republicans.

Last week, the House passed a bill that would provide $14.3 billion in aid to Israel while also cutting that same amount of money from the Internal Revenue Service, a move that experts project would increase the US government's spending deficit by weakening the agency's ability to collect tax revenue.

That bill has gone nowhere in the Democratic-controlled Senate, and the immediate path for Israel aid remains unclear.

In addition to the Israel aid, the Biden administration has requested more than $60 billion for Ukraine, as well as billions in funding for humanitarian aid, Taiwan's defense, and border security.

House Republicans have sought to separate Ukraine and Israel, while Senate Republicans are demanding changes to US border security policy as part of the effort.

Despite consistently voting against Ukraine aid in the past two years as a rank-and-file lawmaker, Johnson has signaled openness to allowing more Ukraine aid to be approved since becoming speaker.

That's been encouraging news for supporters of Ukraine aid — and cause for concern among long-time opponents.

Also one R. Sunk of Downing St who insisted the Palestinians bombed their own hospital and has gone quiet now that five or six other hospitals have been bombed too.

The foul allegations of rape have been dropped by the Israeli government. The forty beheaded babies has been downscaled to one dead baby, not beheaded, and killed by persons unknown. Two thirds of Israelis killed on October 7 were military personnel. The killers of the remaining one third are definitively revealed to have been in part the Israeli armed forces themselves. Those with influence who spread the propaganda to the contrary stand exposed as War Criminals and now much blood stains their character for ever. It is a spot which will not out.

A 17-year-old Ukrainian orphan abducted from Mariupol faces conscription into the Russian army, his lawyer has warned, as the Kremlin searches for fresh recruits.Bogdan Ermokhin will turn 18 on Nov 19 and has already received a notice to report to the Russian military in December."I no longer have any doubts about Russia's plans. When Bogdan turns 18 in three weeks, he will already be an adult, and, most likely, he will be sent to serve in the Russian army," Ekaterina Bobrovskaya, who represents Bogdan and his sister Valeria, who is still in Ukraine, said in a statement earlier this month.Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February last year, more than 19,500 children have been forcibly deported or displaced into Russia, with only 386 returned home to Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian government.... All currencies are in decline.
The USD has lost what, 97% of its purchasing power over last 50 years or so?
Ditto Pound sterling. Ditto all currencies.

You might have temporarily averted a major catastrophy in the Ruble exchange rate by imposing extreme controls over Russian businesses, but once absorbed the Ruble will continue its decline, it's already down by more than half in the last year and oil prices now the lowest for several months so Putin will be getting peanuts for it. More pain for the Russian economy is yet to come.
