Zelinnski has made his place in history (and his fortune) out of this war. If Biden was not dead behind the eyes it would never have taken lace. Such a waste of lives and treasure. I feel deeply sorry for the Ukrainian population. Taking the casualties and the destruction of your country to fight someone else's proxy war is about the biggest mistake any nation can make.

THE UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES HAVE DECIDED TO DRAFT MORE WOMEN FOLLOWING SUSTAINED LOSSES OVER 20 MONTHS OF THE CONFLICT - it reflects the tremendous toll the Ukraine conflict has exacted.

This move is interpreted as a ‘hard-core measure’ comes as the Kiev regime is struggling to increase the number of troops in the nation’s army after the botched summer counteroffensive claimed the lives of over 90,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

In September 2023, Kiev called upon EU member states to deport alleged Ukrainian “draft dodgers” – something which European countries have largely refused to do so far.

Zelensky has just raised the age limit for female recruits in the Ukrainian military to 60 and these women are going to be sent to the front lines as tank drivers, machine gun positions and truck drivers.

However, the problem with these new Ukrainian female recruits is not the quantitative increase in the number to fill the existing gaps, but the dire situation at the front that will quickly turn them into cannon fodder.

The reason why women are not sent to fight in many countries is simply because they are the ones that will give birth to the next generation.


In the course of the conflict, reports and video-evidence have emerged showing Ukrainian men being forcibly grabbed by conscription officers in various part of the country. Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) report that morale is low and that many conscripts are pushed to the frontline as “cannon fodder”, without proper training, protection or ammo.

Ukrainian summer offensive a failure with appalling casualties, Russian stock market and rouble both up, US enthusiasm for funding the war waning, Italian PM openly acknowledging that there is a stalemate and war fatigue setting in in Ukraine.

There is at last a glimmer of light on the horizon. Ukraine will be a more homogenous state without the Russian speaking provinces, Crimea was only given to Ukraine in 1956 as a an administrative measure when Ukraine and Crimea were all part of the USSR, and should obviously stay with Russia. There ought to be the makings of practical treaty to end the conflict. No doubt it will take time, and a long time if Russia makes a noise about its victory, albeit a very expensive one, but I hope they will play that down rather than jeopardise a practical solution.

If there is a conclusion to this (totally unnecessary) war, perhaps we shall yet see a return on our Poly investments. I suspect that we still have a considerable while to wait though.

Eliminate Israel, give the land to the ragheads (as you describe them), ship ours out there too and take an equivalent number of yids (as I assume you call them) in return. Though they too would be immigrants, I think you regard the yids as a better lot than the ragheads, so that would be a good exchange?

It is a terrible tragedy that so many should have to be killed and injued and so much destruction wrought before there is even a sign that a practical arrangement may be on the horizon. I guess that is the power of the dollar for you! First the dollar pays for the death and destruction, and then the prospect of its supply drying up prompts moves toward peace.

Oil prices are falling due to lack of demand due to the world being in recession and has nothing really to do with the Ukraine/Russia conflict.

As for water for the Crimea, no problem as in the end Russia will hold the whole of Kherson and Zaporizhzia oblasts which supply Crimea with their water.

Turning to Polymetal, it looks as though the Ukrainian was has reached stalemate and may wind down. If a sensible treaty can be brokered, with Russia retaining the Russian speaking parts and Crimea, with practical arrangements for the Crimean water supply, perhaps Poly will become tradable again. Certainly the sharp falls in oil prices suggest the markets are beginning to look to the end of sanctions. I think it will be a long haul though, and that the oil price movement is premature.
