I totally agree with podgyted, the share is massively undervalued. The Hedge Funds that are shorting it jumped in thinking that with so many shares put into the market by both Playtech and the founders, the oversupply would push the price down, and scare investors into selling. The press and Canaccord Genuity (paid for research by the shorters?) had both suggested that the Plus 500 business has reached a plateau and were predicting a stalling of growth and even a shrinking of the business. Also the possibility that the remaining shares held by the founders may be dumped on the market gave them hope that the shares would fall further and they increased their shorts. I am sure they got it wrong, and hopefully the results next week showing increased active users, lower UAC, higher revenue per user and a healthy final quarter, with profits surpassing market expectations, a large dividend, possibly a new significant share buyback scheme, and a statement that the new year has got off to a good start, will panic the shorters into a scramble for the shares to close out their shorts, and send it rocketing above last year’s high.

Podgyted, for Fibonacci, think “Golden Ratio”. Then forget about it and focus on the fundamentals!! I would offer that advice to Doomonger, but some folk are beyond help.

I agree with rHatton that 1600p is quite a battleground - but I sense the bulls will prevail as I consider the price action over the past 2 weeks and chart. Then it’s on to the roadshow on the 12th where the bulls would be quite happy to see further evidence of their thesis playing out. If so, 1800p is quite within reach and this likely starts to stress one or two of the bears. I calculated that the average short has been established at circa 1375p (adjusting for dividend).

At some point in time I'll have to waste a few hours of my life seeing what Fibonacci is all about (if real). For now I'll just stick with my philosophy that this is an undervalued share paying massive dividends and market conditions are just right for it to continue to prosper.

The reason I 'don't point it out' is because it is quite clear to any sane person reading this thread that you are not 'always right'. If anything it is more a case of 'you are normally wrong'. You seem to be making the schoolboy error of thinking that if a company is being heavily shorted then the share price MUST be about to go down. A few minutes googling should be enough for you to realise it just isn't that straightforward.
