An even bigger picture is an understanding of Bayes theorem. What is the probability of something given some other piece of information.

So, given that a financial fraud has been committed, what is the probability that its origin is Israeli? Perhaps high (arguably).

But then, given that you are conducting some financial business in Israel, what is the probability that it is fraudulent? Anyone who says “high” on the basis of the previous statement is ignorant. You would require far more information than that.

Odey have just made a lot of money long on Ocado,Sky,Randgold,shorting Metro Bank,D S Smith,ITV this is a hedge fund who have one of their biggest longs on Plus and have over 10% of two of their funds in Plus.They have been in from inception and of course they have a greater insight as one of the largest owners of shares.The market conditions have been perfect for Plus.FACT

Other motley fool journalists have said buy it,they don’t have any insight,the manager who knows this best is James Hanbury and he holds over 10% of both his funds in Plus his medium term target price is £50,two of the analysts who have been too cautious on plus now have targets over £20.Volatility is here to stay it has improved results at IG and CMC despite ESMA and Plus have told us it’s been good for them,the question is how good?

His title says 'Here's why I wont buy it' then he doesn't really tell you why. Whether he is right or wrong, that piece should be binned. It's a weather man piece, it may rain then again the sun may come out............

Motley fool also said don’t buy Fresnillo last week up 8%,they also had Superdry last year as one of their top buys shares down 50%
