There must be significant doubt about the Jordan bid else the price would be a lot higher today surely?

Got this emailed to my inbox yesterday .. . Thoughts anyone? "Aristocat (UK) Holdings have made an offer to buy Playtech plc for 680p per share. Shareholders will vote on the takeover at meetings on 12 January 2022.

Sp up nicely this am but no news I have seen, US markets closed for TG, I wonder - might a RNS from an interested US party be imminent?

I should have held on. To succeed any bid has to be 10% above the initial bid - so 748p. I’d say it was unlikely that the Aussie lot would bid again, considering that they had to raise money to pay for the initial bid. Perhaps a mix of cash and shares would be possible - but I think it’s unlikely. So for me this is as good as it will get and selling now would be the safest approach.

Admittedly I didn’t think that there would be a counter so I’ve not got great form on this. Good luck either way.

Price is already going back up so probably not too much to worry about unless JKO pull out too

I might even put more in

Didn’t think they would be the ones to end up with this. They will make enough as they hold 5% of stock.

There will be others who are looking at it. This is a very attractive business and lots of people will want to be involved.

1000 would be amazing

I made the blunder of expecting the price to drop after the takeover like many other takeovers this year eg entain so I sold my 2k shares at 678.5 then was told to buy back in at 712

Very happy I didn't miss out on too much

@wfra, lol, that's very kind, largely gut instinct from looking at the share price graph, upward spikes well above existing offer indicates someone knows something, but you can never know for sure.

I do think we are heading for 850+ could go as high as 1000 if it gets to a bidding war, rush if blood to the head and ego's come into play i suspect this latest consortium will also start stake building - after all they will need to get something for their trouble if their bid is trumped :)

Marvellous stuff here, amazing involvement by 3 lesser players while a major users such as entain/PP have not had a sniff (yet) I see that the major activist SpringOwl was quick to accept the first offer made at 680 & gave an irrevocable undertaking at that level and are now selling above that in the market. Is Aristocrat the buyer or???

Took just the 8 days to read my post & type it up, poor journalism Todays Scheme Dic RNS is giving plenty of time to Gopher to intervene setting 12 Jan as one deadline. It fails to define an allotted time that it will allow Gopher to counter bid, which it itself gives Gopher further time to get its ducks in a row. What I think could work is a selling of off the Italy online & b&m base of 2k outlets. Going hugely well and some of the big Euro players could help fund the rebid thus leaving a thriving tech supply co as standalone for the winner
