The synergies would be good I agree l, but I was more referring to similarity with their businesses and the ongoing comparable demand for both. IGT with its London HQ (but as listed in US is largely overlooked here) has gone through a couple of take-overs/expansions and until the bid for Playtech I was surprised neither had attracted any attention...Up another 10 today, sellers market across the sector it seems

Are you expecting a bid from IGT is that why you mentioned their postive earnings? It wouldn't surprise me if they did bid.

Yep, Hong Kong, kinda ironic if the unregulated Asia market that has been thorn in Playtec side on regulated market becomes the eventual owner,

Yep and interestingly Mr Paul is also HK based.....bet he knows Gopher and TT Bond....

Also a Hao Tang just bought 9m shares, anyone want to guess where they are located 😉

Do you know what percentage aristocrat actually hold or do we count the 20.7% i letters of intent as their holding?

Gopher and its affiliate (Advisor) TT Bond Partners each hold 4.97% of Playtech, just under 10% or £221 mn

This potential bid may have legs....

to get the Board and others to recind their letters of intent Gopher need to exceed current offer by a min of 10% , which would set a new floor of 748p min

The fact Board responded to what is effectively press speculation ( no formal offer as yet on table) may be an indicator that there have been multiple expressions of interest... we shall see

Interesting Board picked this point in time to comment on press speculation without a firm offer on table ( Gopher have been in this since 21 Oct), Possible indicator Board have had more than one approach and are setting things up for a trade auction 😉 ? We will see

Yes, that's another possible angle. Think current price is being dictated by supply and demand until we hear more - if we do.

OR, and there has been precedent that a lot of outside activity forces the approved bidder to be required to raise their own agreed bid to keep other predators at bay. A lot of price action for the original bid to stand up as the final, you could argue

It would only make sense to pay that much above the proposed offer price if you either thought there was another bid coming or were involved in a counter bid.

Yep, a couple of really chunky sells for £2mn were absorbed without impact, someone must be hoovering up stock to fill a large order 😜

Another nice move after US open, think the TradeTech nightmare was more the bid delay from maybe many potential suitors. Caesars down 7 & Penn down16 not helping sector so move up here notable IGT near equiv also bouncy
