Ive got over my spat - the above Battle was not intended as a criticism I was having a dreadful day.

Dated the 1.Oct.07

On her first day in office the Health and Safety Commission's (HSC) new Chair, Judith Hackitt CBE, has called for more board level engagement and ownership on health and safety issues.

"With the latest figures showing 241 workplace fatalities, 146,000 serious injuries and two million reported cases of work-related ill-health, there is no room for complacency. More needs to be done in addressing the enormous challenges of improving health and safety in our workplaces. To improve our safety record we need strong and committed boardroom leadership that focuses on real causes of harm in the workplace and not trivia."

Also Darlings pre budget and spending review looks pretty good for some of our areas:

The government will spend more than £4bn over the next three years to help people in poor-quality housing make renovations.

and

The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs budget will rise to £4bn in three years' time, including £800m by 2010 for flood defences.

So am I Battle - that is sitting tight - Anyone who has built a company from when PHSCL was established in 1990 with revenues of 37000 for year ended 31.March.1992 which was the first full year of trading, to last years 4.65m producing 655,651 profit ( Pre In House) is worth backing IMO.

In fact I feel a little sorry for them (King and Coote) who are sweating their nuts off for 75000 and 55000 per annum, when someone who judges them who gets paid 5-10 times that pushes a button and swipes 10% value off their good work.!!!

As for your broker Battle I should watch him as it sounds as if he buys after everyone else has,I prefer to do it the other way round, and remind him that institutions own 24.8% and along with King and Coote holdings theres not much room for many more!!!

Has that much changed in 4 weeks since the announcement on 10.09.07. we will see, I might have to eat my words or not!!!!

Egoi the same thing has happened to me several times after purchasing only to find a few days later the price down.My broker still advises me not to buy any more because no one wants the stock not even the institutions but hey what does he know.Sitting tight for now even though it's been a bad week for several of my stocks.

Which Christmas Big Fella? -:)
Each of the last ones have failed to come up trumps......

Battlebus I think today was almost certainly excellent news. If there was the overhang, then that has got shot of it imho. Which means from here on at worst a level playing field.

Intriguingly, after my 10k buy I could buy 7,500 online. however by the close not even 5k was available despite no further reported trades.

I'm pretty sure we have 'cracked it', whatever any very short term moves. This might well be the final chance to buy at these levels.

Even two or three decentish buys now would start a key trend reversal.

Could well be right. I take it you hold a few of Gavin's PLUS shells. I hold a couple and they have tested my patience. But ISA will have a deal before Christmas (you heard it here first!)

Well if there was an overhang that should have got shot of it trades of 66k and 50k which look related in some way, timed at just the moment the shares started to go up.
Perhaps a Director, or related party, has bought the overhang?

I've just picked up 10k at 45.5p inside online price, in the hope the worst is over, though the mm may now have a few to offload at this price. Any which way I know I've got good value. But I don't know what will be sold to make way for them!

I understand your anger Walker. What we've got to keep telling ourselves is that the shares are cheap and value will out. Cliches yes but actually I disagree with the big Fella.
These shares he refers to could easily have been bought out when there was a fundraising last year, or by the Directors since if they were so inclined, or by Mr Burnell himself indeed if they were/are so cheap (which i do believe them to be).

I seem to recall a similar tale doing the rounds some 18 months ago re PHSC.

However as with his hitherto useless cash shells, I personally find Mr Burnell to be a less than successful name to be linked with these days, and a drag on my 'wealth'.!

If there is an overhang, which is possible of course, then I am happy to accumulate on weakness. I am most certainly not a seller. I did try for some more this afternoon, but someone it looks beat me to it as the price ticked back up a little.

Perhaps it is time for PHSC to give Reugg the red card (sort of awful pun intended); and find a new adviser!

I find it bloody irresponsible sometimes but its not what I think that matters but what do the employees and indeed the customers think when they see the share price drop by 10% because a piddle amount is sold!!!!

I found out about a year ago that there was a guy lobbing out stock he had received as part of a small acquisition - not sure which one or how many shs. I spoke with Gavin Burnell at the time and he advised me that they had agreed to tie him in for another year or so (which would have been up in the summer). I suspect there is a stock overhang and as soon as anyone sells they mark it down heavily but don't rise it as much when there are buyers.
On paper this looks cheap but clearly there is no rush to buy just yet.

The initial drop came just after 8.30am; and the latter just after 10am. I am going to wait to see what delayed trades are reported before deciding whether to top up. The reported trades were probably buys. I suspect we will get something like a 10k sell or similar at 45p, followed by another slightly smaller one at 42p or so.

EDIT: Well there's the first one - 10k at 42p at 8.32 on a spread of 45-50p. Market maker is pathetic.
EDIT2: And there's the other one - 5k at 42p.

I will try to see what I can pick up if anything around 43-43.5p if I get time later today. Over 500k off the market cap for 6 grand's worth of shares (among which a couple of small buys.).

Interesting lol!

Cheers BB. Not sure what you mean by 50%?
The first six months of the trading year have now been completed. Clearly the company is going from strength to strength. Group revenues for the first two months of this financial year were 725k (according to the annual report) which means from the Trading Statement in September the second two months must have been about 943k.

I have started a thread in Motley Fool:

Well Silverdell are doing well :

Asbestos services provider Silverdell PLC said it expects its full-year results to be at the upper end of market forecasts following the successful integration of both its acquisitions Redhill Analysts Ltd and Kitsons Group Ltd and given the strength of its marketplace. The company said it expects to announce its results for the year to Sept 30 in mid-December.

This must reflect market conditions re Adamsons ALS.

The pros and cons of a fragmented sector. It means there are lots of small operations PHSC can cherry pick, but condieration in the past has been made by issueing shares - which then creates an overhang on the stock. I am sure value will out in the end - but PHSC really needs some press coverage to get things going. Otherwise it is likely to remain under the radar for a while yet.
Personally I would love to see these fall much further. Why pay 50p when perhaps it may be 40 further down the line. Anyway my cash is tied up else where and some - like AST are starting to get up a head of steam!!
