BB delighted you are on mend.

But astounded you are not happy with 25% overall revenue increase y-on-y in the quieter half and superb profit rise.

These nurses must have turned your head! It's ahead of what I was hoping for and the two acquisitions could easily lead us to 7p+ eps next year. A p/e of 15 would have us in three figures.

Sounds excellent to me for a company where growth used to be steady but imho is on the up strongly.

Yes Walker the nurses were great i would have stayed on but shortage of beds etc and a lot of travelling by family etc.Still think Health and safety aside that the other parts of the business did disappoint a little, maybe minds were on the new business deals anyhow still an undervalued growth stock with as you say more profit in the pipeline.

Hi battle that was quick good nurses then!! I dont know the turnover increased by 22% which in my mind is good and will be even better in the second half.

I would think Mr market has an eye on the their margins which is by anyones standard brilliant ie the Heath and Safety consultancy operations generated sales of £508,000 with profits of 256,000 representing a margin of more than 50%.

But even if these give a little we will have as we know contributions from In House and Guardian to take up any slack.

An exciting second half to come.

Oh Glass if you could get your hand on that brokers note and report that would make intresting reading.

Hi everyone back to the computer screen today and feeling great.Nice to see the results out while i was away. The increase in profits is good news but i can't stop feeling that i was expecting a greater turnover from several parts of the business but with the aquisitions still to come maybe i'm not reading the big picture.I believe the market might have the same view hence no price rise. Not many co's can increase profit 49% and are left with a stagnant share price. slightly disappointed!

I believe a broker note is pencilled in for release today.
It will be interesting to see what the forecasts are in light of last weeks bullish results and now incorporating the acquisitions.

egoi - Are you trying to hog all the posts :-)

Just realised that results are out and glad to find they make pleasant reading.
PHSC are exhibiting all the signs of an excellent GARP share; existing subs appear to be performing well (with exception of Envex - both turnover and £6k loss seem immaterial); well thought out acquisitions (on good terms IMHO) and very good cross selling opportunities.

With its cash generative qualities and bullish outlook I reckon I'll be hanging onto these for a long time.

Great results.

GHF

Walker I think the significant refers to the next financial year, the acquisitions aren't going to make more than maybe 2-3 months contribution to 2007-8 profits.

That said, very strong set of interims, slightly ahead of what I was hoping for. Acusisitions on course, which will lead to further growth.

Group turnover (consolidated) for the period is £2.518m compared with £2.10060m for the same period
last year, representing an increase of 22%.
- Group profit before tax provision is £364,000, a 49% increase in the figure of £244,000 for the
same period last year.
- Diluted earnings per share at the interim stage in respect of continuing activities are 2.14p
representing a 22% rise above the 1.76p achieved in the corresponding period last year.
- Net cash inflow from operating activities was £479,000 (£87,000 in the same period last year). After
payment of dividends (£93,000), repayment of borrowings (£140,000) and final payments relating to previous
acquisitions (£159,000), there was a £78,000 net increase in cash. This resulted in cash reserves rising to
£1.547m at the end of the period.

With the word significant being used could we be looking at 1m profit for full year,or is that pushing it.

we will see!!!

There will also be significant new revenues and profits to supplement those generated by continuing operations.

Prospects
It has traditionally been the case that demand for the Group's services is higher in the second half of the year.Despite the excellent first half performance, we believe that this trend will continue in the current
financial year. Subject to completing both acquisitions as anticipated, there will also be significant new revenues and profits to supplement those generated by continuing operations.

Look good to me 49% increase in profits:

Group turnover (consolidated) for the period is £2.518m compared with £2.10060m for the same period
last year, representing an increase of 22%.- Group profit before tax provision is £364,000, a 49% increase in the figure of £244,000 for the
same period last year.

If you look in Bb, look after these nurses - hope all going ok.

Of course this is one business area companies can't cut back on, so even if markets head south PHSC should still do very well.

Nice to see a little uptick. Gone from all time low to 12 month high nicely.

Could be quite a lot of newsflow in next couple of months, interims last two years been early Dec, and further on the two acquisitions not too far away I'd think.

Still baffled Walker why these are rated so lowly and why todays annoucement didn't propel us to the 60p mark.Coincidence or what that as longer term holders we have been joined by a few welcome punters over the last days,i doubt word of this deal was out and explains the rise in shareprice recently and had nothing to do with a few purchases.

So do I battle at least in the short term but its March 09 I look forward to when both In House and Guardian both qualify for their bonus payments if profits reach 200000 for In House and a minimum of 400000 for Guardian,we know that the group as it is, is performing very well and with combined profits of 900000 this year end, so even if the existing group stands still which they wont I hope, its looking very good for 2009 min profit of 1.5m.

Plus cross selling opps and more purchases along the way.

What is the market discounting a PE of 4 or 5 or less well there arent many of those about!!!

I havent got an FT at the moment so I cannot check the average PE for support services in the actuaries but I will and let you know.

I'm sure that anyone attempting to buy today will have realised that the current bid and offer (52 v 55)is slightly misleading.

8k Buy @ 56p went through a short time ago and I see the market are now asking north of 56p for a quantity of only 2.5k
Any further buying will push this significantly higher.
(Reminds me of Asfare even more....eh egoi :-)

Mud it is not a quick buck stock and while I agree with you that the market may have turmoil, PHSC has just come off the bottom and is exactly the type of stock to do well even in a market downturn. This news is absolutely superb for the company imho. If they are both trading ahead of 900k pre tax between them to March 2007, then 1 million plus when Guardian makes a 12 month contribution is a near given. The market cap is currently under 6 million.

Add in In-House and at this level these shares are just fantastic value - imvho of course. -:)

I think 80p may take 6-12 months, but thereafter we are looking at comfortably three figure targets into late 2008-9.
