20/2/2014 19:03 | I agree with you! I really don't know why you are bothering to have a dialogue. | midmarsh30
20/2/2014 17:29 | As you seem compelled to post here for some odd reason, why don't you enlighten us all on all these other shares that you're keen on then ? The ones where the results are a certainty and don't involve 'if'. Then we can all judge whether to take any notice or not. I think that might narrow the market down to an extremely small number of shares, if not zero shares. The point about investing is one of trying to get the risk/reward balance right and unless you're a day trader, the daily movements down at this level don't really matter. Serves people right if they get mugged by the mm's. Its a blind bet if you're just buying for a quick buck. I'm buying for that £8mln turnover and the business itself though, which is a different thing altogether. I don't know why I'm bothering to have a dialogue with you, you've obviously got a strange view of investing, turning up when a share appears to have bottomed out, rather than topped out or spiked on a hyped valuation. It is 'buy low, sell high' you know - I assume you know that one ? | yump
20/2/2014 17:18 | Yump - don't get so hung up on my posting history. Chill "it's nice having a tranche at 4-5p" but not so much if the price falls to zero. It was your use of the word "if"! which tells the picture. You and I know that, without information which underpins any price move, this is just a blind bet, or worse, a victim in the hands of the MMs (ref - this morning's spike). | midmarsh30
20/2/2014 13:49 | Surprised by rise yesterday on no volume, are MM's anticipating better news. | beeezzz
20/2/2014 11:23 | Worth buying now, anead of results imo "PhotonStar expects to release its full year results in March 2014." | someuwin
20/2/2014 11:21 | Why post only here, when there are so many other companies worthy of your time then ? Yes, there is clearly a stampede here which is why the share price has gone into a massive spike. I thought the general idea was to buy low before possible positive news that might make a share look cheap, as the market generally looks ahead and then stop buying if the price takes off irrationally. Depends on the share of course. You can see how quickly this one moves. If profitability appears close, you won't get them for anything like 5p. I'd guess a few folk are getting a starting stake as 'insurance'. In the event that it works out, its nice having a tranche at 4-5p. | yump
20/2/2014 10:54 | Enviro, you obviously haven't read my post on the last RNS. I actually made it upbeat, but read the RNS again sales up but costs up by a greater percentage and so margin is eroded further, which is why, once again, they missed their target of EBITDA positive. "Ex employee"? Not a bit of it. Go on fundamentals and real data. Why take a punt on PSL when there are so many companies posting quality increases in all relevant data. I still have PSL on my Watch List. As I said in January, the future is LED. There will be plenty of time to get into PSL, DIA or any other once real progress is shown in releases. Wait for the signs, don't rush in with the herd. | midmarsh30
20/2/2014 10:48 | The share price certainly isn't a pretty sight but there are loads of other stocks with turnover way below this, trading on much, much higher revenue multiples. Doesn't mean this will come good necessarily, but the recent statements are reading quite well and its not a company that's hyping it up while gobbling shareholder's funds and posting huge losses. They simply ! have to sell more to move from covering overheads into decent profit. | yump
20/2/2014 10:46 | I would suggest the share price activity is in anticipation of the full year results which we all know from the trading update will be positive. As for any ramping there is no evidence to support that. | inside2
20/2/2014 10:25 | Perhaps an ex employee | envirovision
20/2/2014 10:21 | Midmarsh isn't interested in anything by the look of it. Posts have almost all been on one company: Photonstar and knocking it. Perhaps invested here at the top and can't let go of the disappointment, which is understandable - but who cares. | yump
20/2/2014 10:12 | hmmm, I assume you read the recent trading update? | envirovision
20/2/2014 10:03 | The PSL share price is rising on no information at all, other than an increased number of trades and the MMs increasing the price: Beware: jumping on the herd instinct; Beware: the optimistic posts from posters (or imposters) we haven't seen on the Board in the last year; and Beware the optimistic chants of the hopers (and no hopers) who bought in at 12p and want to recover their losses! Unless there is a leak, I suggest you do your own research. However, you won't find any information published to support the rise. This is not a de-ramp of course, but a plea to invest on empirical criteria. Cue for posters and hopers to have a shot at me. But let's see who you are! | midmarsh30
20/2/2014 09:33 | Interesting times..... | chrisdgb
20/2/2014 09:30 | I think there's a bit of testing going on. | yump
20/2/2014 08:47 | At least they've brought the spread down marginally from +14%. | gerri-c
20/2/2014 08:40 | Thiopia - I've got a few here - seen those trades. I realised the spread and illiquidity here which can go either way - | tomboyb
20/2/2014 08:35 | Gaining interest on the Traders thread TOP Traders Thread !!!! - CR tomboyb - 22 Jan 2014 - 15:53:31 - 377466 of 386945 PSL - another interesting tiddler 9.1% up TOP Traders Thread !!!! - CR someuwin - 22 Jan 2014 - 15:19:52 - 377412 of 386945 Photonstar (PSL) Looks like something's happening v soon. | thiopia
20/2/2014 08:30 | Does anybody know when they are launching these lights ? I thought it was meant to be January ? | thiopia
18/2/2014 17:19 | Well I'll be in for a fair while now come hell or high water as not easy to unload if it goes wrong. Been grabbing a few now over the last few months. | yump
18/2/2014 15:27 | Some large trades today that appear to be buys. The bid's currently on 4.5p and there are just 2.5k shares available to buy online. That's about £60 worth! | gleach23
18/2/2014 09:35 | Funny contradiction really between investors and investment. Companies making investments in tech. and manufacturing in anticipation of larger revenues aren't often popular with investors. The idea is that you should grow profits and earnings while making large investments in your business for the future. That's only possible when you've already achieved significant market position and sales volume. Otherwise the cash for investment comes from placings. Which aren't popular. Which is odd because raising capital is why companies float. The only real complaint is that some companies don't anticipate very well, how their market and products will develop - or become too optimistic. The rest is down to investors doing the same thing and hiking the share price ahead of events. here endeth... | yump
13/2/2014 08:48 | 60% If I ran a larger company in this market and wanted a bolt-on set of new products that had already been through R&D, it might fit nicely. Might wait until I knew they were selling a bit more, although obviously the acquisition would cost more as that information would already be in the market. | yump
13/2/2014 08:18 | Straw poll on the % chance of Photonstar getting a takeover offer?? | chrisdgb
10/2/2014 11:42 | After the positive trading update, it would be nice to see some more Director purchases before the closed period ahead of final results.. | chrisdgb |
