The dividend is attractive but in line with it's compatriots this and they are going nowhere for the next few weeks as we approach the results updates.

Happy enough to roll with it for now but market is running scared and until we know what trump's intentions are not many punters prepared to go out on a limb .

I am particularly interested in Abdn in light of the recent substantial share purchase by a director.

You pays your money but I am hanging on to mine until we have clarity

Happy new year to all

For example: This one is 10.5 yield...
LGEN is 8.5 yield

Eg its sort of valued at 2% less than LGEN using yield as a guide for value
But really aren't they all the same more or less? Just good
stocks for dividends except this one has the biggest dividend of them all..

Expect the gradual reduction in interest rates will support the share price in 2025. Waiting to hear the FY results date confirmation. Wont be long .. GLA

This one has about the best DIVIDEND yield.
Its basically the old Standard Life with extra bits..

What does this mean in layman's terms, does anyone know?

FT reporting that some companies are discounting bulk annuity deals to make their targets, with PHNX in the guise of Standard Life suggested as one such operator.
It will be interesting to see what margins and volumes are reported. 2025 sales could be big but not very profitable for the industry.

Or don’t play the MMs at their game just buy hold and reinvest dividends.

Well you can sell before going Ex dividend and buy back when it has fallen twice a dividend amount. Thereby giving you a 20% return per year.

Good call but according to Simply Wall Street it's a 100 percent payout rate. Also negative earnings reported and analyst consensus for negative eps growth.May see dividend cut amid boardroom changes.

The dividend is just over 10% (tax free in an ISA) and increasing slowly. Even if the share price goes down you are not going to loose money in the long term.

I think it more likely we retest the recent lows dividends not withstanding

At this moment their is no backbone anywhere people are running scared and I am happy to let it find it's own level,

I ve shut up shop and will await developments but is not looking good.

Dividends the draw here and still some way off

So be careful

i don't get this
keeping rates up should be good for insurers given their gilt holdings.

I can't see this share price getting anywhere near the 560s what it was when the last dividend was announced

Cherry, Heres to a hearty welcome to this advfn thread

In answer to your question regarding my RNS repeats

Its a memory aid for me and of course others who have many companies to follow

It helps me visualise the companys potential in these unpredictable times and understand if possible the turning points up or down

Have a great day on this Friday 13th and the forthcoming weekend
