Some people may be unhappy having bought at 565 or so, but a look at the chart tells us this has been volatile enough for years , buy on the troughs not the peaks and get an even better yield...

Going to be tempted to add in my ISA if this keeps dropping due to rising Gilt yields

'Ricardo' you've been spouting the same for years - oddly you disappear/reappear exactly in line with PHNX trending up/down. Any one with a pair of eyes can track you on here, and on LSE. Pretty amateur, all in all.

Meanwhile, temporary lower price good for flushing out nervous holders.

U.K. and Europe will be utterly fukt. Sterling and euro both getting vaporised. The bigger better ftse listed stuff that’s still left will be relisting and moving domicile to US fast to get around Trump tariffs, he knows that, the dollar milkshake theory….the US just sucking in more and more value whilst draining everywhere else, reserve currency, owns all the tech and has the wealthiest population whilst Europe heads for the U bend. Hardcore U.K. recession coming and endless weak sterling since brexit fiasco sucking in more inflation as U.K. imports everything especially energy and it’s all priced in USD. As for Phnx…weeeeeeee back to sub 4.40 as bonds tank in value again as risk premium yields rise.

Yep and the ftse traders usually wouldn't dare go against that.

UK Gilt yields rising isn't helping and if they carry on watch them crash the UK which is already in a bear mkt from it's high

If phnx was an isolated high yield stock then I’d be worried.

So either a whole pile of large businesses are risky, or the difference between 11% and 8% isn’t really significant, given gilts and savings accounts are at 4-5%.

Phnx are just at the top of the high yielders.

11% yield, for me that's a red flag for a FTSE 100 company.

No, he's not joined as CEO - he's joined as CFO. Good appointment, IMO - got a lot of City experience and a details man.

UK gilts are actually down.

Shorts pulling share price down as usual.

I'm not sure a brilliant dividend is worth the depreciation in share price. And then having to wait 6 to 12 months for the share price to recover. This has happened a few times here now. All the positive talk from the board seems to make no difference.I will wait for the share price to recover a bit then out ( good dividend or not) too much of a waiting game for me. Better value elsewhere I think.

This is taking a bashing on no real bad news. 6 weeks ago this was £5.65, a drop of almost 14%.

Only one of my stocks down this morning, but, like a few others added to my postion. Hopefully the election result in the US should be good for markets, a rising tide lifts all boats and all that.

wllm :)
