02/3/2022 13:35 | robizm: but the russians wont open without having sovereign wealth funds ready to buy, ? effect on pog? | tahmina1
02/3/2022 13:30 | I have tried to buy on interactive investor. Fill or Kill. No luck so far. It may be that ii has to wait for the whole sum, so I should probably have gone for a smaller amount (like the 3k Kendonagasaki achieved). I checked on degiro, as they are very good at trading, and showing, the small parcels that make up a larger trade. However, they have indicated they can't trade stocks with Russian underlyings. And when I search for POG the engine doesn't find anything. As to what will happen when the Moscow exchange reopens, presumably domestic-only listings (with largely domestic shareholders?) will presumably do much better. It will be interesting to see what POG does, and whether we end up with a price mismatch. Though I don't necessarily disagree with ROBIZM as I guess the larger stocks tend to be dual listed? In normal times, does anyone know how you do the arbitrage, if at all? | apple53
02/3/2022 13:16 | Russia stock exchange will crash on reopening. Look at Gazprom adr $10.90 to $0.03 and luk oil 95% down. | robizm
02/3/2022 13:08 | Guys - is this dual listed on the Moscow Stock Exchange? If so, and the Russians reopen that exchange and sink sovereign wealth funds into buying the stock, would this not cause a bounce? Sorry if Im being naieve. | tahmina1
02/3/2022 13:06 | The risk with this and also other goldminers/gold price is that Russia had most of it's foreign reserves overseas and they've been frozen. What they do have is $400 billion in gold which they will now use to prop up their economy. This means that the market is going to see a lot of gold suddenly appear, though it will also be offset by people investing in gold as a safe haven. There's a real chance that Russia will nationalise Russian gold mines as this will be their only real income. | space_bob
02/3/2022 13:05 | there are lots of bargains out there at the moment - this is just pure gambling though!! Good luck though - hope it pays off | wooster4

02/3/2022 12:24 | Maybe so to you but it's the truth. People hate to be confronted with truth that conflicts with their tightly held opinions. They would rather die than change their opinions ..... so they have no interest in knowing the truth about any subject at all. | stevea171 |
