You could also say the ridiculous salaries paid to many FTSE 250 company ceo's is theft. You say tomato I say "tomato "!Russia and China have a different culture. It hates and fears democracy. The west is arrogant and believes it has all the answers. However, whenever it controls a new country (Afghanistan, Iraq, etc) they make a hash of it. Neither Russia or Ukraine/ West want a long war. It will be over in a week. It will be painful, however, the world and POG will carry on. Slavic powers have been squabbling for centuries. We should say how terrible it is, but steer well clear.

IG protecting their clients by wanting 100 percent margin yesterday. As POG is now down 25 percent. I was lucky getting out at 15.6p just before the war.

When they open Russians will sell.

Or perhaps russian markets never re-open

don't forget "The St. Petersburg Stock Exchange shut down in August 1914 when World War I began, briefly reopened in 1917, then shut down for the next 75 years when the Russian Revolution began".

There were no refunds and investors lost everything.

I have bgt in here today at 6.1p. My take on the war is that it is no different to Georgia in 2008. Wikipedia has a good summary:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Georgian_WarThe west is making much more of it this time. But Georgia lasted 12 days with the Russian areas taken over. That is likely here imo.Share prices will recover 1-3 months from now. But lots of risk obviously dyor!

Really Rob? When the only factor that has dropped the shares from 15p to 6 is politics.War ends on good terms this is back up above 10. War continues and a new iron curtain descends, then this is worth nothing.

"Rather, the U.S. Department of Defense Cooperative Threat Reduction Program has provided technical support to the Ukrainian Ministry of Health since 2005 to improve public health laboratories, whose mission is analogous to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention," Weber told PolitiFact.

There is such a thing. And Ukraine is it. I was referring to US nucs although Zelenski did say the other day he wants Ukraine to develop its own nucs. Also the US has built/is funding 11 bio weapon labs in Ukraine which have been taken down by Russian strikes. Weapons of mass destruction.

Ukraine has been characterised as a monkey playing with a hand grenade.

I did learn from my experience, which is why I loath war.
Ukraine is not a defacto member of NATO. There is no such thing. There are no nuclear weapons in Ukraine, though they used to have many thousands of them .. and gave them up on condition their independence was recognized.

Well you should have learnt from your experience.
For the past 8 years Ukraine has been made a defacto member of NATO. The only things missing are US nuclear missiles stationed minutes flying time to Moscow which are undefendable and Clause 5 of the Treaty.

If you think Russia is so right, go and join up and kill. Only if you change your mind and have any doubts, you'll be shot in the head. You also won't be able to express any views freely ...
As for me, I'm 65 and have seen war close up ...it's nothing to crow about believe me.

How old are you? 20 something? A snowflake? You need to wake up to the realities of life.

Russia demanded that Ukraine would never, never, ever become a member of NATO. This was refused. So these are the consequences after 8 years of provocations by the US, NATO and Ukraine. Specific just to Ukraine.
