I am puzzled to for reason I gave on BKG thread. Surely it will be likely when the witch's deal is rejected . Hopefully there will be a PV which will really boost building stocks ! ( smile ) .But I am a REMOANER and proud of it !

Why do the builders like the fact that a Hard Brexit is less likely after yesterday's vote?

I agree Gorse. Any reason for today's increase?

I do wish they'd split their dividend payments more equally across the year ... including specials.

rally today soon fizzled out and chart suggests more downside to come. PSN seems to be worst performer in building stocks today and I wonder why !

Must be a buy at these levels surely. 12% divi, bags of cash and plenty of plots.

You are right itchy, payout will be cut regardless of what they have said, to protect capital, things likely to head back shortly to 2008 for builders, help to sell scheme was always going to end badly like everything this shambles of a government have tried, no company yields 11 per cent so specials will be gone in short order, surprised at how fast these are falling now, brexit tanking it all rapidly even if there is deal of sorts.

From the Money section of The Times, 24th November:

Helal Miah of the Share Centre, a stockbroker, says housebuilders have been out of favour because they are closely linked to the UK economy. Yet there is still a huge demand for new homes and many housebuilders are making good profits. He says: "Persimmon has a strong order book and is still growing. On the one hand it is focusing on cutting costs and on the other it is developing its own brick and roof tile manufacturing operation so should be well placed to meet future demand."

Watch and wait for the Hedge funds to close the short positions.
Guaranteed dividends, forward sales looking good, time for a re-rating

Yep, long long way down for this one before the trend changes back up.
Dividend cut also likely in the future too.
