So are PAA putting up any of the prize money like your mate says ?

Would the company have had to tell shareholders by now if they had ?

Well, KN, you just continue with your ridiculous rampy posts on the other thread and the very best of british to you.

Ballantine's apparently contributed millions to PAA's top line in 2012/13. There would have been much smaller revenues from minor sponsors in those years (one presumes). It appears there are only minor sponsors this year.

My predictions may prove to be wrong but I've been absolutely right about everything that has happened here so far...haven't I?!!

Been watching the golf and a number of sponsors show at most of the tee offs. Also revenue (I presume) from television rights from Sky?
Shame there is not one major sponsor but smaller ones instead.
As for the comment on the other thread - if there's an issue the company would have been compelled to issue a profits warning - yes? The prize money is down by 1.3 million to 1.5 million this year which probably offsets some/all the sponsorship shortfall - he (?) didn't mention this as derampers ONLY focus on the negatives - what a sad way to live a life...
Where is it then?

I don't mind the share being under the radar for a few more weeks - can still add at this low price (imo). Just read the broker note again from last year which was fairly bullish for 2013/14 - it all depends on winning more events and the sponsorship for The Championship. The broker target was 8p ie. £ 1.92 post consolidation - I would settle for that! I note the European Tour has 5-6 sponsors (ie. BMW) so maybe these companies will provide the sponsorship backbone? There should be news next week - one way or the other.
This is now one of my longer held shares but I have been fairly active this week. Got in QPP at 22p and sold at 28p then back in on another dip and ditto IOF. Decided to have a mixture of core holdings and stick with them and then a third of the portfolio is for quicker trades - seems to be working so far and the trick is not to get too greedy. Also not posting on all the share threads I am trading on - less firepower for the trolls.
Everyone have a great weekend !!!

With respect it is no good buying 100 of these now and again, PAA needs 1500 minimum buys to get it going I have done my bit with no success

Is that the new strategy KN? Average down in the worst performing UK share (that hasn't gone bust - unless someone can find a worse one?) this millennium in the hope of some miraculous spike in the sp? That should bring my prediction forward a bit!

Who do you think is going to pay the prize money for the fine men that play well in The Championship? If it's PAA and there's no big sponsor that really might cause a share price spike - not UP!

Needless to say even if PAA lose a mint on that event we won't be told for ever such a long time so you might get really really lucky!

:)

Added 1800 earlier in week at 112p but I seem to be only one buying which is letting others sell out, been here before in PAA it is slow drifts followed by big spike so did not expect anything else but to be 10-20% down after buying this is how it works in PAA, but all time low this cannot be right it is looking a bargain but nobody wants to buy them except me.

I found a nice quote today "Common yardsticks such as dividend yield, the ratio of price to earnings or to book value, and even growth rates have nothing to do with valuation except to the extent they provide clues to the amount and timing of cash flows into and from the business." Warren Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Chairman's Letter (2001).

Funny, KN old boy, how nowhere in there does it say anything about the number of recent RNS's being used to value a company. One of the common errors of the most clueless PI's!

If I was invested here I'd be worried about forthcoming cash flows out of the company to pay for commitments to The Championship, for which it seems ever more likely that there won't be a big sponsor to pay ! Quite why none of you have phoned the company to enquire what those commitments are remains deeply unbelievable to me :)
