@Boobie I understood the 10Bn to be invested into already existing Conoco units in Alaska, NOT into new exploration (which could mean PANR), or am I wrong?

"Lelarge said that, in addition to new investments such as Willow, ConocoPhillips is planning total investments in excess of $10 billion in core North Slope assets during the coming decade, in the Colville River unit, the Greater Mooses Tooth unit, Kuparuk River unit and the Hilcorp operated Prudhoe Bay unit. This should enable total gross oil production from these units to reach a peak of 450,000 barrels per day, compared with current levels of around 400,000 barrels per day"

This article about ConocoPhillips in Alaska cheered me up after yesterday's share price fall. Can't help thinking Panr (and other oilers) are oversold, given the likely ability of Pfizer and Biontech to tweak their covid vaccine rapidly, and I thought some of the quotes from Mr Lelarge of Conoco rather interesting about looking for opportunities in Alaska, keeping their cost base down, and big fields getting bigger:

Could ConocoPhillips be one of the players negotiating a farm-out?

Dear All – well, well, well…..turns out my longshot hunch was correct after all. Remember the “Silence Therapeutics” RNS published after the market shut on Thursday evening? A subsequent enquiry to FTSE Russell Client Services has led to the following response:

“We have confirmed that as a result of Silence Therapeutics being deleted from all FTSE AIM indexes, Pantheon Resources will be promoted to the FTSE AIM 100 Index, effective from the open of 30th November.

This is why Pantheon Resources was referenced. However the 'tag' to that announcement has been from RNS today. We apologize and will discuss internally ways to avoid such issues happening in future.”

So, that’s good news on the “technicalR21; front and, all things being equal, ought to see a further tranche of index-related buying over the next few days/weeks.

Happy to be corrected but I don’t recall PANR being included in the FTSE AIM 100 previously? I suppose there’s still a possibility PANR will be included in the FTSE AIM 50. I checked the applicable rules for the AIM 50 index and PANR would *appear* to have met the required threshold for entry. Trouble is, there’s no way I can see, of knowing/guesstimating the candidates being relegated from the AIM 50 and any candidates for promotion who are *ahead* of PANR in the queue.

Still, inclusion in the AIM 100 is a noteworthy event. Good stuff.

I wish! I bought 200k at 76 and 200k at 71 on one account and 45k at 74.33 on another. Was all a bit fraught as I was out and about getting an MOT and new tyres, so wasn't in front of my desk. We'll live to fight another day dhb!

For the record Winner, I don't spreadbet Panr. I own all of the shares. I bought over 400k today and regrettably not all at the best price , given we ended on a low. So before you criticise, perhaps you should extend some thanks. The fall might have greater we're it not for those buys!

"This board should come with a health warning"

Really, winner? The stock falls by more than 20% in no time at all and you reckon this thread, rather than the one where any hint of negativity is unacceptable, is the one that needs a health warning.

Each to his own, I suppose, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes to see both sides of the coin when it comes to investments, even if some of the naysayers are a bit wacky or pursuing their own, often blatantly obvious, agendas. One could easily level the same criticisms at so many who used to inhabit this board with their wall to wall religious fervour. The risks are out there even if you would rather be an ostrich like a large proportion of the Guild emigres.

I'm not coming from "I told you so" here either. I've been positive and confident about this stock for quite a while and made a further top-up just a few days ago at 83.3!

Forwood as is typical of a spread better you choose the down trend on a chart to make your calls , rarely the up trend. But look good luck to you also , I’m now done here. This board should come with a health warning .

In fairness the only person that can harm their financial wealth is themselves.

So if your feeling the pain maybe you should be slapping a financial health warning on yourself???

The health warning is, and always was: don't ignore the risks and don't shout down those who warn of them.
