Incidentally Eric, I hope you're being paid for the long hours you appear to be putting in as Opti's and shareprophets bulletin board PR and "fake news" agent? I suppose it's quite a clever way of distancing themselves from e.g. THERE WILL BE NO PLACING comments or trying to silence anybody with opposing views. They can simply turn around and accuse you of getting it wrong.

Anyway, if you're just the unpaid skivvy which I suspect you are then ask for some remuneration e.g "a bung of shares in Opti" or on second thoughts insist on cash. LOL.

Back to opti. Any word on a trading update for the first six months of 2018 (DEC 2017-MAY 2018)? Revenues would do?

Are YSF still offloading tiny amounts of their 12% holding into the market? Odd that don't you think with all those institutional investors gagging for shares in the bailout placing? Tbh wouldn't they just ask YSF for 2/3% of their shares in an off market trade? That's what I'd do, it'd be all nice and orderly. Just strikes me as strange.

As ever AIMHO.

I couldn't help but notice that trak is almost down to its 52 wk floor... Gulp... If I was invested there I would most likely spend my time trying to help it instead of trolling other threads but then that's just me...

A plummet to the 63p region might very well happen imo...and then intersected by the opti rampers yet again to drive it back up.

Two great articles.
Thanks Elrico for the interview, and someuwin for that explanatory piece.

I was wondering if there is any route for Opti to help folks with food allergies.
If so, that would be fantastic IMHO.

"I guess your view will stand the same with SBTX as you watch it’s value increase. I think you said it was way overvalued at 9p didn’t you? Oops"

Plenty of companies are overvalued, particularly now the unrelenting bull market has been running for several years, all the "burger flippers" have got involved in the market deluding themselves that they are all suddenly investing geniuses. SBTX is just more overvalued than it was at 9p. Highly speculative and illiquid stock and the share price moves sharply up or down. Remember when you were all making comparisons between Opti and DDDD? DDDD's share price was around 10 quid, and I said it's overvalued. DDDD's share price is now 1.31. That's a whopping 87% drop. Thousands of examples of companies where the share price had been driven up to ridiculous levels.

Many Opti investors piled into IMM. Highly speculative again. Dropped 75% in a day and it's still falling. I guess that means it was overvalued :).

Your mantra when investing should be where's my "MARGIN OF SAFETY"? Neither Opti nor SBTX have a margin of safety imo, there is absolutely no room for error or disappointment as IMM and DDDD perfectly illustrate.

To be fair, the share price has risen from 55p to 70p over 2 months. A pretty good rise if you timed it; which I didn't. share price has just reached my average! So over 30% up.

PS: also, on today's trading, I think someone said sells showing as buys due mid price estimation of buy/sell.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRE- AND PROBIOTICS?

Probiotics are revolutionising the nutraceutical market, offering the ‘worried well’ a straightforward way to manage their health from the gut outwards. From yogurts to snack bars, manufacturers are fortifying everyday foods with specialist ingredients to help consumers aid or prevent conditions such as high cholesterol and obesity.

But did you know that prebiotics are also integral to aiding this activity? Often overlooked or confused with probiotics, they are becoming increasingly recognised for their vital role in maintaining the human microbiome’s ideal balance.

In order to understand how all of this works, it is important to understand the difference between pre- and probiotics.

Probiotics

Probiotics are the good guys; the healthy bacteria which promote our wellbeing. These live microbes help to maintain a beneficial proportion of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ bacteria in the human microbiome; the collection of hundreds of species of microorganisms that live on and in the body, in order to affect a wide range of physical outcomes.

When the microbiome is in a state of equilibrium, it provides the host with crucial ingredients needed to fend off or combat illness. However, multiple factors such as poor diet, stress, medication and antibiotic usage can disrupt this balance, with altered microbial compositions (also referred to as ‘dysbiosesR17;) linked to conditions from Crohn’s disease to diabetes.

Science is rapidly unveiling the power of probiotics to restore harmony to the gut community, enabling the nutraceutical industry to create hassle-free applications which encourage microbial diversity. In the past, most probiotic strains have been developed with a focus on immunity and general digestive wellness but technological advances are now opening new doors to precision engineered solutions via targeted strains, broadening the market’s scope for health management.

For example, OptiBiotix’s Lactobacillus plantarum LPLDL® (LPLDL®) probiotic strain demonstrates the capacity to boost heart fitness, making it a valuable ingredient in functional food products. Its naturally-occurring metabolic activity harnesses the microbiome-liver axis, the intestinal bacteria and liver’s crosstalk, to reduce blood pressure and cholesterol and offer a non-pharmaceutical approach to cardiovascular wellbeing.

Prebiotics

Prebiotics act as fuel or food for probiotics and other beneficial members of the microbiome, stimulating the growth of a wide range of gut microbes. These non-digestible substances often take the form of fibres and are biologically much simpler than probiotics, but their importance should not be underestimated. Selectively utilised in the gut, they play a pivotal role in diversifying the microbiome and nourishing its complex work.

Prebiotics are furthermore well suited to nutraceutical applications, with excellent heat resistance allowing them to survive manufacturing processes.

Synbiotics

While an increased intake of pre or probiotics has been shown to confer health benefits, great results can be achieved by pairing them together, a strategy referred to as ‘synbiotics217;. Leveraging each product’s unique strengths, alongside advances in science’s understanding of biochemical pathways, it is now possible to create probiotics’ ideal prebiotic partners and develop a targeted new generation of microbiome modulating products.

An example here is the co-administering of LPLDL® with the galactooligosaccharide (GOS) prebiotic LPGOS®, which has been found to target this specific organism and support its activity. OptiBiotix produces LPGOS® with LPLDL® enzyme extracts, utilising its biochemical pathways to orchestrate complex oligosaccharides and provide an all-natural solution.

So there you have it – the difference between pre and probiotics and the exciting possibilities of combining the two for a match made in gut heaven. Opening up new frontiers in disease prevention and management, these microscopic champions are having an enormous impact on the functional food and beverage industry and empowering consumers to take control of their wellbeing.

Seed Health launch and accompanying media exposure will bring new interest - hopefully that that will be next week. When HLH launched Lactobact LDL-Control, that was RNS'd so we should see an RNS for Seed's launch.
