Well I doubt the date now which is part of the reason I still think buying in Jan will be possible at these levels.

No sign yet of a sugar product launch, no 2017 slimbiome sales with Tata as per the RNS, only one European post Vitafoods lpldl contract.

It will all come but, in my view, later than folks think. But hey ho, it might all come pre-xmas and you may have your long awaited £1 share.

Imnotlong - I said I didn't remember not that I didn't believe you. Thanks for the clarification on the DATE, which I don't recall doubting. The wording of "first generation sugars" not the date.

Are you the same waldof who was invested in Vialogy in days gone by?
If so, I seem to recall you had a good idea when news would be forthcoming (although not a good ending for vialogy).
Interesting you turn up here now at this time. Lots of news expected - just the timing of it is in question. Within weeks or a couple of months. Or maybe both.

Did you know that probiotics can lessen hypertension? Our LP-LDL strain has shown consistent blood pressure reduction and is available now!

Elrico, have a look a page 5 and 6 of the last annual report......

How’s that for a traders research??

Work to date has demonstrated our ability to synthesise sweet calorie free natural healthy sugars (SweetBiotix®) with safety and sweetness confirmed by human taste studies. These sweet natural healthy sugars are not digested in the human gut and hence calorie free. The SweetBiotix concept is an innovative concept with the potential to address a global requirement, addressing international concerns over the impact of sugar on obesity, with the prospect of replacing ‘unhealthyR17; sugars in existing products with non-digestible, low calorie, healthy, SweetBiotix®. As the food and beverage industry responds to growing public and political concerns over traditional sugars and artificial sweeteners, we anticipate high levels of commercial interest in this product. In anticipation of growing industry interest, we have accelerated our development plans and hope to launch our first generation sugar product later this year, or at the start of 2018

Folk should be loading up if they can
Selling should not even be contemplated. Unless of course its forced selling

might it be reasonable to suppose that the party that exercised the 500,000 warrants at 8p earlier this month is now cashing in some chips....if not all, hence the dip?

shrewd,
There have been 28,500 shares traded in total on aim
I don't think its encouraging any selling
But more importantly, in my opinion, there is very little buying

Shrewdmole - My comment referring to Wolf was merely a possible answer to today's drop, which works for both II accumulating and a so called larger PI. I have no doubt MM's have been transferring wealth from the small to the larger PI. It's a very easy task for them with thinly traded companies like OPTI. They know PI's can be very impatient and easily spooked. All observed through my rose-tinted of course.

I'd don't recall SOH using the term "first generation sugars." I'm not suggesting he didn't. Can you post a link with the reference as it may offer a clue - may not of course.

I think the link with Kellogg's is CII/SlimBiome. It's very difficult to get firm evidence to support my claim, other than searching for links using google, which links CII with both General Mills and Kellogg's via picture search. Neither Kellogg's or General Mills manufacture their own raw ingredients, they are bought in from a 3rd party, which looks to be CII if you trust google. I have asked CII but they decline to even acknowledge the query. Shocking behavior if you ask me. :)

I agree but I don't make the rules.
It's an old MM trick that I was told about years ago. A lot of people are discouraged by the spread.

I'm not talking about pi's.

I'm saying it's been missed that repeatedly we dip intraday on small stale bull sells then a 100k or similar turns up.

The warrant exercise shares were swept up by someone and my feeling is we have someone buying with a 70p ish limit.

Will happily take the negative comments but this is my opinion.

Small sells and larger buys generally and spread opened to encourage sellers and discourage buyers. Like I say anyone that's been on the markets a while knows that bit.

I’m sure SoH previously said first generation sugars would be in place by late 2017 early 2018. No mention of timescales in this update.

Optibiotix Health PLC on Kelloggs’ Sugar Levels Cut

Following the announcement today from Kelloggs to cut the amount of sugar in its three top selling children’s cereals, we caught up with Stephen O’Hara, CEO of OptiBiotix Health PLC (LON:OPTI) for his thoughts:

“We are really pleased with the progress we are making in this area which opens up opportunities for the development of a range of natural sweet healthy prebiotic fibres which can be used to replace sugar or as high intensity natural sweetness in food and beverages. With growing consumer interest in healthy lifestyles public interest and political concerns over traditional sugars and artificial sweeteners OptiBiotix is leading research in an area of growing industry interest.”

OptiBiotix is in the Sweet Spot of developing solutions with SweetBiotix®. This is an innovative concept with the potential to address a global requirement, addressing international concerns over the impact of sugar on obesity, with the prospect of replacing ‘unhealthy’ sugars in existing products with non-digestible, low calorie, healthy, SweetBiotix®. These sweet natural healthy sugars are not digested in the human gut and hence calorie free.

In the last twelve months, OptiBiotix has accelerated its development programmes in this area and have carried out a number of independent human studies which demonstrate the potential for two types of products:-

Sweet natural sweet prebiotics which can be used to replace sugar in food and beverages. These may be classified as dietary fibres, which from an industry and consumer perspective, creates the prospect of substituting high calorie sugars with sweet healthy fibres
High intensity natural sweeteners showing sweetness of between 140X and 223X that of sucrose at equivalent concentrations, with a large reduction in bitterness when compared to Stevia.
