Exactly what Elrico said...saved me a long post! I thought they were overvalued 12 months ago, but now just can't fathom the valuation?! Some of the names and unscrupulous activities attached to them also makes me feel uneasy! AIM is inherently high risk investing... virtual currency is Russian roulette levels! Well done to everyone that's making money... just make sure you get out before the foundations start to collapse!

Slarty - I was researching Bitcoins a couple of years ago, but OPTI sort of took centre stage. The appeal also wore thin because I started have issues with Bitcoins, especially as there seemed to be a growing bandwagon....this has gained in momentum and of course with some SB platforms are now offering trades. Uhm!! For me, I was struggling to understand how anyone could see value in Bitcoins...of course the graph makes me look foolish, because there is clear value, right? Not sure? No I am not convinced. For a trader thinking of trading Bitcoin...wow, er no very dangerous. Why? IMHO - Bitcoins are nothing more than numbers in a computer network, and by themselves they have no value whatsoever. Commodities like, gold, silver, etc, have an intrinsic value, which fluctuates with market forces. Of course, some will argue Bitcoins has a value because there is a market for it. However, if my limited understanding is correct, Bitcoins is a limited currency; I think there cannot be more than 21m Bitcoins…so how can this be used as a global currency if it is finite? I’m confused here, perhaps I’m wrong, or perhaps a little thick.

I also have moral concerns with the use of Bitcoins in the dark web, its use for fraudulent activities and transactions. To be perfectly honest, I don’t trust the security of it. If someone commits fraud against you by cloning your ID and uses it to say, obtain credit in your name, this is easier to prove it is not your debt in most cases, with Bitcoins being stolen from you, how do you prove this? Perhaps I’m a tad thick on this front as well. In any event, I’m not wealthy enough to be chasing Bitcoins ramping at current levels. I fully expect the bubble to burst at some point. A few years from now we will almost certainly be reading about traders losing their shirts. And the Korean aspect...that is a big red flag!

Apologies Elrico.
I used to work for Vector Television in Didsbury, just down the road from Stockport, quite a few years back.
Small world.

Owen,
I didn’t mean (true or imagined) regarding you. I’m sure you do have the 500k shares in sbtx
It was a generalisation
I often see people post they have 100,000’s of this share or 1,000,000’s of that share
Easy to do on a keyboard and makes me wary of the poster (not you)
Have a nice weekend
Snow up here

You make a valid point Judi as regards declaring one’s position via-a-vis a given share. At 10p. a pop i didn’t think it unduly indiscreet to spill the beans. Not too sure about the “true or imagined”!reference( this brings an added dimension to it.

Thanks for the birthday wishes - peeps. Party and golf.... because I'm young enough to do both. :)

John - I'm not a manc, I hail from Stockport, I just reside in Manchester now because I couldn't afford a decent mortgage in Stockport 25 years ago and never got to moving back. :(

Slarty - got my maiden tickets yesterday and a promise for a backstage bash. I know a man that knows a man that knows a dog goes to the same church as Nicko. How cool is that. ;) Please tell me you're not coming up to the northern wastelands! :)

Any, finished work now, trooper and settle to watch the ashes.

Owen,
You should never announce on a public bb your holding (be it true or imagined) in any share
Only my opinion and each to their own
