Shrewd - I agree with everything about Opti and it is going to be a game changer. But you have been trading the share making money from it, other LTH's have been here for 2+ years with no increase so it's easy for people to say the things you have said when you are making money. I have been in from around 37p so I have made money but I feel we need to look at both sides of the story and some people who have been invested here for 2+ years may not be happy and quite rightly can start questioning. I think we will see a major change soon.

Must admit, a lot of moaning from me today. I've been here for years so it's just frustration. It's quite annoying for the whole world to be like "SUGAR IS EVIL" and here we are with a product but no real exposure of it to the world...in over 2yrs. I thought SOH wanted to move really fast on it to kill off competition? That video was posted in 2015!

And then we have LP-LDL. It takes just weeks to create an e-commerce website, but with over 28,082 headlines in papers about the danger of statins etc, no one in the UK can walk into a store and buy the product.

This board has worked hard and done well to keep the motivation alive. Imagine how dead things would feel be without it. I'm just hoping i'm made to look like an idiot...VERY SOON! But who knows. I would buy more but i'm balls deep already.

Judi

I'm happy with my core holding tbh.

It's only losing money when you cash it in.

So much negativity around Opti on here that's unwarranted.

I also suspect a few of the newbies are shorting. One liners from newbies about share price performance....

Yet this morning on line you could get almost mid price for several times nms.

Join the dots guys.

Just because an ii hasn't gone over a notifiable interest doesn't mean they aren't interested or accumulating.

Does anybody here really believe that having received offers and bids for ip that there aren't hnw and ii trying to get decent stakes.

I will get hung for this but sod it - Opti is on a lot of radars, and soh runs a very tight ship re news leaks.
They've confirmed they had approaches they confirmed they are working with dsm.

There are some huge deals coming through here.

Instead of moaning all the time guys do what trotters has done and be thankful of the opportunity to buy at a suppressed value.

Soh has been asked by ii to do a placing but he doesn't need to.

Like I say join the dots.

Red to green, blue before the close? I think so, hopefully news this week also, it's been a while by OPTI standards

Old video here by SOH regarding Sweetbiotix -

"Stephen O ‘ Hara, chief executive of OptiBiotix Health (LON:OPTI), says its ‘SweetBiotix’ healthy sugars have attracted a lot of interest from commercial partners which could lead to the commercialisation of the novel products by the end of 2016 or early 2017."

Date of video - 2015.

Mal - You may be confusing IP industry valuation with commercial products. Remember Chr Hansen paid E73m for LGG IP, which had proven sales as well as well documented, if not the most documented prebiotic. £20m+ valuation for SweetBiotix IP with no commercial traction to speak of is higher than I expected it to be.

It is just my opinion - but I would imagine the valuation is possibly someone within the industry chancing their arm. They probably looked at OPTI market cap, thought, hey offer a c3rd of the valuation and see what happens? After all, they probably knew SOH's history of development and sale. SOH probably had a rye smile.

I struggle with a 20m valuation for Sweetbiotix given the worldwide potential to replace sugar? WTFDIK

It doesn’t get enough media attention. Apart from those in the know and us on this board, it might as well not exist. I feel like it’s almost treated as some sort of secret, which would make sense if there a was HUGE deal on the way - but I’ve been here long enough to become cynical that there probably isn’t.

It’s all guesswork right now. Which is annoying because we heard about sweetbiotix years ago.

To clarify, I mean I can't believe the £20m Sweetbiotix revelation has not generated more interest in terms of share price appreciation, obviously the industry interest is very significant indeed

It's not a rumour.. SoH provides us with an Industry valuation of £20m for Sweetbiotix, obviously he could only do that if that some was offered in some way, shape or form. I can't believe it's not generated more interest tbh, Sweetbiotix has not even been commercialised yet! Remember SoH has previously stated the interest in Sweetbiotix is unprecedented in his long and distinguished experience

Ive got my largest ever holding in OPTI now, we'll pleased with that. The lagging share price has actually done me a bit of a favour tbh, it's allowed me to take profits elsewhere and channel them into OPTI before the real fireworks begin. 2018 is the year it all comes together, I have zero doubt in my mind OPTI is the right place for the lions share of my PF

Pity nobody is joining you TT

I'm surprised that the traders on here do not realise the damage they are contributing to "their core holding" while they make a few £100. This trading along with our seller and little buying is doing the damage to our share price at the moment

I’d be surprised if no one wants a sugar replacement or pills to reduce cholesterol - yet we’re just sitting on them, trying to get good deals while our investments are dead money.

Either no one wants them or others will beat us to it. Oh well, bring on 2020.

Totally different company but VRS have a product (nanene) that others want and strike deals quickly... a shame it takes us three years to negotiate anything...

The technology Opti have is anything but hot air. There are too many unsophisticated emotional PI's on AIM looking for the next oil rush and seem not to understand the time it takes and process of commercialising disruptive technology. More so with a company as diverse as Opti. As frustrating and time consuming it is it's how in reality these businesses operate. From SOH recently it appears Opti have a potential offer on the table for the yet to be commercialised Sweetbiotix IP for £20m. This is nearly half the current market cap alone. If this is the case what would the probiotic division be valued at by the industry now it's signing deals globally building the LPLDL brand? Then there is the Prebiotic division which is the enhancement for LPLDL (LPGOS). This same technology is what the deal with DSM entails - it's good news they are presenting the results as you would assume it has worked rather well. I have mentioned this before - if it's DSM's Culturelle brand they've been working on then we are we in for the ££££ and would explain the time and silence. We also know LPGOS works in replica gut models and is the first of its kind in this space to show such a targeted enhancement of a specific strain. This is serious disruptive technology to a £30+bn industry. It is also hugely disruptive to food markets as these healthy ingredients can be added to foods on their own as they have their own health benefits as well as enhancing probiotics such as LPLDL.Also the newly fully funded Skin division, yet to impress but likely to build quickly following anticipation of trial results this year. This is when serious commercial discussions begin as it also follows the typical development process. Last but not least the weight management division which has a product that works and recently an award from industry. Im expecting this to expand into the US via CII and others this year. The current market may not fully understand the value and want to see the numbers but the industry certainly knows it's worth and of course the Opti bod. 2018 will see more and more investment in this area just as commercial traction picks up here at Opti. From a sunny beach in Australia with a nice cold one! Keeping the faith and buying when others are selling! GLA
