Spacedust, The 5p risk premium represents the risk that Medco decide to walk away.

Me -> Medco offered 53.8p in December when Brent was trading BELOW CURRENT LEVELS & PRIOR TO TRADING UPDATE ON AMAZING FIGURES FROM OPHIR IN JAN. POST THESE POSITIVE DEVELOPMENTS THE GREAT MORGAN STANLEY & MUPPET ALAN BOOTH HAVE GOT US A STELLAR ADDITION of 1.2P FROM DECEMBER 53.8p Medco offer when it was 100% clear Fortuna gone, Brent trading in the pits, OPEC uncertainty - NO AGREEMENT etc, market tanking on imminent recession....extremely poor market sentiment - OPHIR WAS VALUED AT 53.8p.... I AM SURE IF OFFERED 53.8P - WOULD HAVE EASILY AGREED 55P in DECEMBER. STIFEL ANALYSTS HAVE STATED THAT ANY OFFER LESS THAN 66P MATERIALLY UNDERVALUES OPHIR - CAN'T BELIEVE II's & THE PRESS ARE ALLOWING THIS THIEVERY OF BRITISH INVESTORS TO PROCEED UNCHECKED..... MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE DRAGGED IN THE DIRT FOR THEIR LAPSE IN FIDUCIARY OBLIGATIONS..... STIFEL ANALYSTS HAVE BEEN QUOTED IN FT STATING ANY PRICE LESS THAN 66p for OPHIR SEVERELY UNDERVALUES THE FIRM..... WHY THE DESPERATION FOR MANAGEMENT TO SELL ON THE CHEAP....

hxxps://www.businesstimes.com.sg/energy-commodities/ophir-energy-rejects-medcos-buyout-offer Medco has made several overtures for Ophir. The Indonesian company's offer of 48.5 pence per Ophir share is significantly lower than its initial offer of 58 pence per share, having already reduced it to 53.8 pence in December. Ophir, which is set to provide a 12-month trading update on Tuesday, said its board considered Medco's latest offer and unanimously took the decision to reject it, without giving further details. "Don't now sell this business for less than it is worth - or possibly, if a firm bid is made that isn't high enough, don't sell this business at all," Stifel analysts said in a note.

Ignition was 55p then share price would have been stuck at 55p now. Before the takeover was ever rns'd the share price was approx 32p-ish then zoom it went to 48p after first rns was issued confirming there as an offer without mentioning the price. But market placed it at 48p and the BaNg the 48.5p offer was confirmed......

We can't do anything, that is the reality. It's the major shareholders, Petrus et al. They will dictate what happens

BOARD IS CLEARLY ACCOMMODATING - INSTITUTIONS TAKE CUE FROM BOARD..... WHY EXTEND THE OFFER PERIOD TO JAN 31st FOR ONE??? IIs CAN'T FORCE THAT - IT IS CLEARLY THE BOARD WHY NO NEW CEO ALL THIS TIME??? CRONY OF NICK COOPER - ALAN BOOTH IN CAHOOTS IT WOULD APPEAR WITH MEDCO - MUTUAL SELF DEALING WHIFF ABOUT THE WHOLE APPROACH... MEDCO UP 10% TODAY - THAT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN A BUYER ACQUIRES A TARGET DIRT CHEAP!!!! NO CLEARER SIGNAL - AND LOOK I AM BEING PASSIONATE AS PIs NEED TO GET MAD & GET POLITICAL OTHERWISE CRONY CAPITALISTS WILL ALWAYS DO US OVER - NOT MANY GOOD GUYS OUT THERE. MOST ARE LIKE ALAN BOOTH USELESS SELF DEALING EGOTISTS LOOKING FOR SHORTCUTS......

Medco up nearly 10% TODAY --> NOTHING COULD BE MORE OF A SIGNAL & CLARIFICATION THAT OPHIR MANAGEMENT HAVE FAILED OPHIR SHAREHOLDERS / BRITISH INVESTORS IN BEING STEWARDS OF CAPITAL. MEDCO SHAREHOLDERS HAVE BEEN REWARDED BY THEIR ASTUTE & CUNNING MANAGEMENT WHILE OUR MUPPET SHADY (LIKELY INSIDER DEALING) MANAGEMENT HAS CLEARLY FAILED OPHIR INVESTORS..... SAD & PATHETIC
