That would be a surprise , Cooper said just a few weeks ago that Fortuna would add significant value for shareholders ,dumping another billion shares is not going to do that if you are an existing holder .
The share price is clearly being walked down , but why .

My only real concern is they decide to do something with equity - that would be nuts given the current valuation but you can't ever rule anything out.

Certainly testing ones patience here , of course if financing is announced and it's a good deal , straight back to 75p on opening , smells of manipulation at this stage.

Still no word from the company, so another another "catch a falling knife day" in the offing.

Proper clear out going on today with 3.2m shares traded so far and a lot of liquidity I'd hasten to add.

Looking at today's volume and trades, maybe the smaller iis have been doing a bit of selling to reduce their exposure. The major iis really do need to take steps to try and stop the rot here, as collectively, they are the only one's with the clout to do it. The problem is that if they sack the incumbent management, how do they replace it and what to do with their 2 cash burning half baked non performing undeveloped LNG assets?

Yes.....even for a company where the management have sp#nked away the thick end of $3bn in 6.5 years, the asset value is not reflected in the share price ......but it could still go alot lower. I would be intrigued to know what the real fire sale price/value is for each of Ophir's share of the LNG assets. Where is Pavilion (mugs) Oil when you really need them?

From Golar LNG Q3 results:

With the Umbrella Agreement approved, a preferred off-taker and offtake structure agreed, and EPC and EPCIC contracts for midstream and upstream infrastructure now in place, the critical outstanding requirement for full FID remains financing. Progress has been made on bank and alternative financing approaches over the last month. Based on the solid economics of this project, the Board expects to approve a FID in the first part of 2018.

Well I've dipped my toe this morning. Obviously something has spooked the selling, I suspect finance talks not going smoothly - but still looks harsh. Taken a view this is worth a risk as sum of parts looks well north of here.

nige , no finance , last rns pretty rubbish , uncertainty written all over this management , not once have they hit their targets , constant duff information , it goes on , sack the main man , or get taken out , it's got to be worth 90p

75p to 55p in a week and a half. Something is very wrong here.

Based on what? Simply looking at the share price?

Edging up off the low. We may have seen the bottom.

In a way it would be good if finance is not offered by the Asians , they would have to sell their 20 % in Tanzania and then go back to the bankers with a larger input to raise the cash , change at the top would also be good.

Looking at the web site potted history section since 2004.....the lunatics certainly do run the asylum here. Since mid July 2011 to date, Ophir has raised and squandered appx $2.8bn in cash!......with two undeveloped gas fields and a couple of marginal operational fields which struggle to produce 12k bbd between them to show for it......and a forward guidance that their current net cash balance of $103 mio will be virtually zero for y/e 2018! Added to which they have an outstanding $107mio Nordic bond which needs refinancing this year.Despite the oil price meltdown of 2015/6 this inept management take the meaning of incompetence to a completely new level..... (Carillon comes to mind).Imo any bank would be insane to lend this shower $1.2bn. It ain't going to happen.
