Do you have a link to the results please? I’ve managed to find them in the past but struggling this time around!

Indian electricity demand was fairly weak in the three months to June due to unusually high rainfall, but has boomed thereafter - especially in October. OPG’s quarterly profile of profitability perhaps reflects that, also suggesting a stronger H2.

Of course this is the main trading subsidiary, not the consolidated accounts of the whole business.

Ah come on Tim this is nuts, we have loss making stocks all over the place in debt and they are flying, none of them are seeing improvement in trading and they have valuations miles higher.

Is this a case of nobody wants to buy any stock now until they are flying. If I did not hold so many atm (500k) I'd be buying size here at 12.34p

I guess people will wake up soon

Results are now published on OPG’s website. Post-tax profits were about £0.4mn in the three months to June, rising to £2.5mn in the three months to September. I would guess profits will increase in H2 with the signing of a major contract to supply a state utility. As the company announced in its trading update in September, cash flow from operations was high (about £32mn) in H1, including about £9.5mn cash flow associated with profitability - ie adding back non-cash expenses such as depreciation to the ca £3mn profits.

Who's selling 100k under 12p blimey that seems desperate given the fundamentals but each to their own I see somebody else took advantage and got 100k below 12.4p today.

Tim

Be nice if we would get inside information again with results in India first

OPG Power Generation, the power plant trading subsidiary, had a Board meeting today to sign off their unaudited accounts for the three and six months ending 30/9/23. In the past, these accounts have been posted on the OPG website shortly after, but that’s no longer certain in view of the redemption of the NCDs.

Somebody (probably a mm) trying to get 100k at 12p in the auction which makes sense after all those small buys today.

Also it's just 2-3 weeks to interim results if going by previous years

Bonkers eh, more bonkers is how many people sold last week, it shows no matter how good or cheap a stock looks lots of people will sell out if it's drifting but chase the spikes to the moon.

I will be adding size at some point next week

Net debt has reduced from £53.4mn at end-March 2020 to minus £18.6mn at end-August 2023, an average rate of improvement of £1.75mn per month. At that rate, the company’s current mkt cap will be covered entirely by net cash by 31 January 2025, ie before the end of the next FY. I doubt you can say that for any other UK listed company. Moreover, the Indian power sector is growing extremely rapidly (implying a rising PLF), and management is targeting net cash generation as its primary KPI. So I would guess that, unless there is a new project taken on or a return of capital to shareholders, net cash is likely to be at least £50mn within the next 12 months. What other company offers this level of security? I don’t understand how Bubba has disinvested to go in another direction. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Blimey 11.5p bid what a market and the mm's have played a blinder.

I have just tried a 150k quote NT of course, we know they are just manipulating it down, can buy 100k at 12.44p.

I'm going to buy more size but not today, clear head Monday and see what happens

Looks like our buyer has sensibly decided to back off because just about everybody else is panic selling atm, actually the same is happening everywhere.

To me this is like selling £20 notes for £10 or less but in this market sellers do not care how cheap a stock looks, if it's drifting everybody sells.

It’s worth shareholders taking a look at the IEX website. On some days, prices spike to about 10p per kWh, compared with OPG’s achieved average of 8.6p in FY23. And OPG costs are much lower this year too.

I am as impatient as most - invested for 5 years plusThe change in the fundamentals is why we are here Deleveraged businessIncreased PLF Increased tariffsIncreased cash holdings Growing electricity demand in India - Undervalued company - EPSWhere are we in 2025 and beyond ? Target share price Q4 2024?Do they buy or build more power assets ?

We have discussed cash generation in the past. The AR has an interesting section on Power Offtake, which states that the company is focusing on short term contracts and selling power daily on the IEX. Both of these routes seem to have very short payment terms. This seems to explain the very high cash generation since end-March, and is likely to continue for the rest of the FY.

I agree, getting ill is terrible business practice, reflects very badly on the company. LOL. Seriously, what does it matter if the presentation is delayed a few days? Presentations in any case just summarise what is already in the public domain. We here know already everything that it will contain.

lol

I suggest buying Enet instead or all the other stocks making no money and generating no cash.

They are not suspended now and only were for a few weeks.

When they have £30 mil of net cash in 2024 will people still be negative.

I cannot find a cheaper stock on the whole stock exchange, the big buyer knows this
but this stock is being heavily manipulated and it does work, little pi's have no patience and they did score today with a 150k sale at 12.44p

I'm with GB90. Delayed results, suspension, double deferment of presentation at short notice is indeed not a good look.

I know I bang on but the manipulation in this one to get it down is incredible.

Once again another large delayed buy 115k at 12.95p no reaction

Ah thank you.

I was going to ask them about buying back shares, it just seems nailed on, if a share price or a value share price refuses to move then use a fraction of the cash to buyback stock it's just so simple.
