Yes kibes the TUI report shows demand is strong, it's the airlines/airports that have cause the problems but they are receding now, the Sunday Times checked out 28 airports and found them to be running almost back to normal and as far as passenger disruption goes it was relatively small. The media jumping on extreme stories has done us no favours.

TUI: Europe’s biggest travel operator has reported a €3.8 billion jump in third-quarter revenue to €4.4 billion as travellers returned after the pandemic. It said that group underlying profits were broadly breakeven: it made a €27 million loss, down from €669.8 million in the same quarter last year. This included €75 million of costs related to flight disruption.

Sooner we get an update the better but of course next year and even the year after are a concern now unless HMG comes to its senses and provides some reassurance. Not ideology but practical tangible plans which will work and pdq.

Tui results today show much improving sales running at 2019 levels. They are making a profit on package holidays but their airline is not. Flight cancellations have hit them. Reads across quite well to Onthebeach who do not have their own airline, but I don't know how they will be hit by cancellations.

I would say flight cancellations are an irritation compared to the wider impact that COVID lockdown had. Every article I read about OTB suggests their robust business model makes them more resilient to turbulence (excuse the pun). I bought some more this morning in anticipation of an upbeat trading statement.

One concern I had was the cost financially and to OTB reputation of the cancelled and rescheduled flights early summer.
If EasyJet cancel a flight for an OTB package does the holidaymaker have the same rights and who pays for it EasyJet or OTB. If the holidaymaker books direct from EasyJet then EasyJet has to meet the additional costs. If OTB have a commercial block booking deal with EasyJet and resell it to the holidaymaker who is responsible and picks up the costs.
Any opinions?

Jun 2019 before the pandemic they have a revenue 140 million with 15% return and make about 20 million in profit. this year TUI make 2 million of flights where 750K was only in JUN.

this summer will go crazy and slow to normal next year, but if they make 15 million profit each time will be cheap, they do not have any debit .

Stock has them as revenue 132m with profit of 13.2m. Bit of a jump to get to 200m.

i am confident in this company, i have allocated 50k only in this company and i expect 100% return by the end of the year. If the TUI result on August 10 is very good, I believe that OTB will go up with it

not cheap? look I believe this year they will make 200 million to 220 in revenue with 20% make 40 million profit this means they will be 4 X profit, this is a very cheap man. they do not have any debit. time to buy is now not after they make a good profit because market cap will jump before you buy easy to 400m to 500m

In the case of this stock I think it’s a case of not catching a falling knife. It’s not about to turn on a sixpence that’s for sure

Don't know but 6 weeks ago Peel Hunt set a target of 500p with the share price then at 200p, making it clear they were looking ahead to 2023:-

Analyst Ivor Jones reiterated his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 500p on the stock, which slumped 13.3% to close at 209p after publishing interim results on Tuesday.

The analyst said the business model allows On the Beach to be ‘the lowest cost provider of package holidays’ as its ‘remaining competitors have headed upmarket in search of margin’.

‘Next year, On the Beach should get some of the payback on this year’s investment in brand, marketing, and market share, and its market should not be distorted by cash trapped in competitor credit notes,’ said Jones.

‘While 2022 remains uncertain, we are convinced of the value in On the Beach yet to be realised.’

Well I have bgt today. Have been watching these for a while. Bgt at 113.15. Aware that I could well be catching a falling knife but have jumped in because I hope there will be support at this price level. That's because in spring 2020 the share price briefly touched 112.6 when lock down was announced. Risky but hopefully rewarding in the future
