04/10/2024 17:42 | Hurt my back playing tennis last week, it's not 100%, but, I have a match scheduled for tomorrow. I'm inclined to risk it, hope I don't regret that decision. I have heard nothing from the Accident Management Company in relation to my car accident August 2023. I contacted them in early July this year after receiving a letter which seemed to suggest I might be liable for exorbitant car hire charges and the storage and repairs to my vehicle, they told me as long as I help them recover their costs I won't be charged anything, since then nothing. They make me nervous so I'm inclined to keep my head down and wait until they contact me. A few stocks that I hold went xd this week so relatively happy with the portfolio performance overall: Best Riser: WDS +8.17% Worst Faller: PHNX -10.02% xd On the week: -0.19% YTD: +8.68% Have a nice weekent chaps, wllm :) | ![]() wllmherk
04/10/2024 17:26 | +0.24% folio, [FTSE All-Share +0.09%] CLIG, NEXN, leading gainers. SSE, BHP worst fallers. On the week -0.40% Shares of the week : BA., WDS, reflecting the Middle East situation. Faller of the week : PHNX. Folio YTD +8.7% Considering all the rainfall experienced lately here in E Mid, the Severn Trent storage figures for the Derwent Valley resevoirs on 30th Sept seem no better, even worse with the Howden only 26% of capacity. Total capacity 54.9%, doesn't make sense. Enjoy your weekends. | ![]() blueliner
04/10/2024 16:48 | I will update my figures in the morning as had my laptop changed and got all my bookmarks etc to add again and having finished work for the day I can't face that pain now, lol Enjoying a cold Doombar or two instead 🍺 | ![]() carpingtris
04/10/2024 16:21 | 5/7 on the quiz, mostly guesses. I'm op +0.002% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.023%). Best rises: LLOY +2.37%, BP. +1.92% and BT.A +1.40%. Worst falls: SSE -2.78%,AZN -1.89% and SGRO -1.62%. Funny old week. I suspect the best thing would be for the head of the BofE to say nowt. Scampi and chips shortly. Enjoy the weekend. 04/10/2024 16:19 | Just a few £s up. YTD +3.6%. Sunny morning after the fog. Warm at lunch. Bright afternoon of high cloud. 14.7C after 5.0C. The Bantams now have 4 out of their 5 centre-backs injured. We've signed a Championship centre-back, who has just about retired at 37, on a short contract for Monday night's game on Sky. Have good weekend. | ![]() aleman

04/10/2024 15:54 | Well that was a turn around this afternoon, especially from LLOY! First posiive day of the week making -0.79% on the week so now +6.95% YTD - all figures adjusted for the cash lump sum withdrawal. Now to get the value back up again! We have the grandkids tomorrow and then until Sunday morning, still deciding what we'll be doing. Can't give them the choice or they will choose different things and we don't want to show any favouritism! Enjoy your weekends. MrP | ![]() mrphil

04/10/2024 10:46 | Morning All. Just 1/7 for me and that was a guess towards the end so I was getting worried! Saw the consultant this morning for the result of my recent MRI. I was dead right it was all to do with my fall on the pontoon early last year.....seems it caused compound fractures of two vertebrae and there's nothing he can do to sort it and he confirmed there would have been nothing they could have done at the time. He said even if I had gone to A&E at the time they probably wouldn't have done any scan as they have mostly stopped doing x-rays/scans in such circumstances to save time and money (his words not mine)! Stopped off at Stansted Park for coffee and cake on the way back and sat outside in lovely warm sunshine. Beautiful day here at the moment after 6°C first thing. Colours just starting to change. My lot down but only slightly which is a bonus this week! | ![]() mrphil
04/10/2024 08:57 | Morning everyone . Quite a shock Skinny :-) Sunny morning again but we had some condensation inside a couple of windows this morning. Still haven't turned the heating on. Portfolio dead flat Quiz = 3/7 US nonfarm payrolls data due at 1:30pm | ![]() philanderer

04/10/2024 07:39 | I've just checked my figures, I actually finished +7.19% YTD last Friday - all a bit academic, as I seem to have 'lost' @1.6% since! Not least due to PHNX & CLIG going XD. | ![]() skinny

04/10/2024 05:49 | Good morning. A bit of a shock to come back to the dark and the heating!! Yesterday evening, we got the Gatwick express back to London Bridge and then a train and a short cab ride home - cost £14 in total as opposed to @£80 cab fare - the joys of getting older! 4/7. | ![]() skinny

03/10/2024 18:19 | My monitor is showing rubbish. I am actually somewhere around -1.0% with at least 0.6% of that being ex-dividends so it is not a disaster. I note Tesco had UK sales volume +4.0% and value +4.7%. This suggests inflation had been squeezed from the food side of the economy back in Spring? Shrinkflation and ingredients fiddling continues, though. The latest fig rolls I bought had little discernible filling. It could have been (not a lot of) anything in there! I shopped at MRW for the first time in ages. It will be ages before I go again. I did not get a second shop over £100 last week. I did fill the car with 13 litres of regular E10 petrol last week so just under 1/4 of a 55 litre tank. Straight away my fuel consumption dropped and this week's fill saw it at 40.7mpg, when it's been up at 44-46 for routine weeks. So I'll not be doing that again for ages either. Cracking day. Mostly sunny and it felt warm in the middle of the day, though the shadows felt cold first thing. Cycled for coffee after lunch. Did ok though I thought the chilly breeze held me back. Then I discovered it was soft tyres, with possibly both having slow punctures now. What did I say about all the rubbish on the cycle paths? They had swept a section today. They could do with sweeping a few of the ignorant pedestrians and dog walkers off or put up some highway code reminders. They were even more annoying than normal. The 3rd load of washing I've put out this week did not dry this time. 15.0C after 5.7C (Though felt very much like the low was overreading again. That overhanging apple tree has grown a lot this year and is still in full leaf.) | ![]() aleman
03/10/2024 17:30 | -0.76% folio, [FTSE All-Share -0.11%] Looks grim until you take the XD's into account. 03/10/2024 16:28 | Down for me as well -0.33% , a few risers , TSCO, SHEL, SBRY, WTB, MKS and BP .... a lot red , especially distributors DPLM and RS1. Collected a few garden leaves this afternoon. There was even butterflies on the buddleia bushes in the sunshine 17C . Bit nippy for shorts late on. I'm allowed to keep the high viz waistcoat and the litter picker said the lady at the Parish Council office. And just pop in if you ever want more heavy duty bags plus a plastic ring contraption that keeps the bag open while you walk along doing the collecting. Spaghetti and meatballs in a tomato chilli sauce. Bottle of heavily discounted merlot :-) | ![]() philanderer
03/10/2024 16:16 | -0.3% Another grim day for me. I’ve been red from opening to close everyday this week which is somewhat depressing. VLX/BGO/MNG/NG today’s fallers. I’ve had a few of my smaller holdings fall sharply for no obvious reason, maybe potential changes to AIM IHT rules. It was VLXs turn today. | ![]() dr biotech
