+0.5%.

Some sun this afternoon. 11.3C after 5.5C

Hospital went better than last time but more sedation administered that might wear off. I just want to avoid the week of massive swelling from last time and then the week of aches and pains as that went down. Neither was considered normal. Scans to come next to try find out what is causing the odd aches and pains - only taken 7 months to get them offered.

Morning,

Grey overcast and drizzling here,

You win some ABF and loose some TBLD.

On the whole slightly red so far.

Good morning. Drizzling. I was expecting dry and sunny. Maybe later?

Started slightly positive. I'm happy just to see the back of those endless mall falls for a while. Getting half way back to breakeven feels like a win after that.

Busy day on including a trip to hospital for a follow-up. Hopefully goes better than last time.

Good Morning.

Further to my post yesterday morning and more examples of 'Broken Britain' :-

The response from the National Highways, smacks of the same arrogance shown by the Post Office regarding the Horizon scandal.

The FTSE futures indicate and all time high today.

Rain overnight and currently 6C.

I'm up +1.375% on the day today (FTSE100 +1.621%).

Best rises: S32 +4.10%, VOD +3.91% and TSCO +3.45%.

Only 3 fell: WDS -2.37%, SMDS -1.06% and IMI -0.17%.

No idea about what happened. Presumably SMDS reacted to the price of IPC falling. No idea re WDS or S32, opposite reactions from down under.

Retinopathy scan tomorrow morning.

+0.4% mainly down to CLIG. Was just over twice that just before the close and not sure what dropped it.

Cold, sunless day with a little light rain. Heating run at times. 11.3C after 4.6C

I finished up 1.15%.

The FTSE was close to testing the all time high @8,047.06 earlier.

We escaped the forecast rain, but it still feels chilly with a high of 10C.

Decent day for me but hopefully others have done better. API/AUSC/VLX/MTEC/AV all added more than 0.1% to the pot (MTEC +56%, after the rise becomes my 2nd smallest holding after CPI, is now worth 0.4% of my total)

Biggest fallers KITW/MEGP. The are actually my overall best performing holdings so can be forgiven this time. Pub Quiz this evening.

Interesting to see the full video of the "openly jewish" man and the policeman - from the 13mins it looks like he is there partly to agitate the marchers. Its perhaps not as straightforward as it first appeared.

The Terriers lost once more and are now destined for division one next season.

Incompetence has run throughout the club, at all levels, for the last couple of years.
Naivety by the new American owner who sacked Warnock and also appointed the Director of Football , a man described by an ex-board member as 'like a second hand car salesman with egg down the front of his suit'. Onwards and downwards from the day he arrived.

Even worse, I've actually bought shares with similar managements.

Morning All.

Great first run out of the year yesterday for Drive it Day, we had 9 Stags and an old Volvo for our run out to the Haynes Museum. Bit of traffic near the museum due to works on the A303. We had an interesting moment at some roadworks traffic lights in one of the local villages where a couple of guys in high vis vests waved traffic from our direction through on a red light so we assumed they were stuck. But when we reached the cars waiting at the other end they were on green but couldn't go anywhere as we were all in the way, and the jam that way was miles long. We came to the conclusion they were just a couple of random guys out to have some Sunday morning fun!

Having dropped out of positive territory I see we have have just three representatives there now! Looking quite blue so far today though.

Gilts now suggest 6 x 0.25% rate cuts in the next 12 months and another 3 the year after (so ending at 3.0% rather than 2.75%). Supermarkets' recent (odd/profiteering?) rises in food and petrol costs might be jeopardising some of those rate reductions.

Anybody seen falling petrol prices yet? .....Didn;t think so.

Wholesale petrol was 5p more than diesel at the start of the year and 8p more at the pump. Whoelsale diesel is now 5p CHEAPER than petrol but still 8p more at the pump. So retail petrol should be about 5p cheaper and diesel about 15p cheaper after last week's wholesale falls. We are being ripped off again and it will show in higher CPI that will stop rates falling.

(Brent crude now $85.)

People don’t change we are exactly the same as we were 2000 years ago. Re stupidity a good example i believe is sat nav, not long ago if you were going on a long trip the day before you had to plot the route and study the route now just put in the sat nav. ILast week I did this instead of using sat nav and because I needed to focus on turn offs etc I felt I lot more relaxed as did not have time to think about anything else, have a good day
