22/4/2024 06:57 | Good Morning. Surprise, surprise and some truly shocking statistics :- | skinny
21/4/2024 11:21 | The Bantams won again at promotion-chasing Walsall yesterday to make it 13 points from 15 since Pointon made it sudddenly back into the first 11. He seems to have developed a good understanding with Walker, who scored two yesterday than got sent off. Only a win at Barrow on Tuesday night could see us an an outsider for the play-offs on the last day. It's so typical of them to go on a good run after strange team selection had thrown it all away following a previous good run. For a few seasons, the club has vehaved like it does not want to get into League 1, where it is rather more expensive to fund a copmetitive side. | aleman
21/4/2024 09:04 | Good Morning. Thanks wllm. If you have an interest in hydrogen powered flights or tidal power generation - this is worth a watch. | skinny
20/4/2024 16:43 | Thanks for update wllm. | malcolm caton

20/4/2024 12:56 | I think the Terriers will be pushed to sell 12k next season Aleman. It's a must win today if we want to stay up. However reports from the manager suggest some are not giving their all in training, so that doesn't bode well. | kiwi2007
20/4/2024 10:30 | Lovely day after a frosty start. Will mow the front if it dries out enough. What is it with football clubs? After Hughes froze Pointon out, and then Alexander doing the same until the fans protest against owner and CEO, we now have the club release a video of Pointon reminiscing about his time as a spectator on the Kop just 7 days before the season ticket deadline. I really do not like the current spinmeister CEO. He says 12k season tickets now sold but I'm not convinced when looking at those still available to buy. I suspect some creative accounting around what "sold" means. | aleman
19/4/2024 23:10 | Nice to comfortably beat the markets this week. EML were up 31%Renewables did well too, maybe they are finally turning upwards.Marginally down a touch on the week, with my YTD at -1.8%Hopefully the weather will warm up soon.Enjoy your weekends :) | gateside
19/4/2024 22:46 | Cycled across the Forth Road Bridge today twice, equivalent to 6 miles, we try to sprint cycle but, its not easy as there is a significant incline which gets the lactic acid burning in the legs. On the way back there was also a NE wind which was freezing, really felt cold. There is a local hotel nearby that we visit afterwards for a coffee and glorious views over the Forth Estuary. Tennis tomorrow with the weather forecast promising. Another poor week on the markets, my weightings towards financials and Commercial Property stocks hurting at the moment with interest rates looking like they may stay higher for longer. Best Riser: FSFL +1.56% Worst Faller: PHNX -4.33% On the week: -1.11% YTD: -4.74% wllm :) | wllmherk
19/4/2024 19:21 | I'm up +0.021% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.239%), but down -1.12% on the week (FTSE100 -1.25%) and up +0.18% YTD (FTSE100 +2.10% and HIX +2.77%. Best rises: UU. +1.52%, IMB +1.46% and HLN +1.43%. Worst falls: SMDS -10.26%, KGF -1.05% and S32 -0.88%. SMDS fell sharply after Mondi decided not to pursue their bid, and IPC's price had fallen. I trimmed back SMDS last week at 412.7, fortunately. I swept the drive this morning, so now have 9 bags to go to the dump in the morning. WSCC make you book a slot these days, so I have 11.00. 6/7 on the quiz, which is a record for me. I only knew one answer. Enjoy the weekend. DF | deanforester
19/4/2024 19:16 | Down 0.25% - my REITS and KITW doing most of the damage. Given I started the day close to the -1% mark thats not so bad. Seems everday this week the markets reverse their morning positions in the afternoon. Thats about -0.8% this week, +0.4% YTD. Thought for most of today I'd be negative for that. | dr biotech
19/4/2024 18:15 | Portfolio just about flat for the day -£2.30p :-) nothing much moving either way. -1.16% for the week , making -2.52% YTD Showery day not that warm 13C Just about got the garden up to speed and potted up the tomato plants. We're out for lunch in Waterloo tomorrow then a matinee performance of 'Machinal' at The Old Vic. QPR v Preston not until 5:15pm , a must win if ever there was one. Off sunday for a couple of weeks sunshine hopefully in Malaga. Aleman, pleased to hear you've had some sort of result for your mum. Must be draining. Beef Lasagne and salad from Asda tonight and a bottle of plonk. Good weekend everyone. | philanderer
19/4/2024 18:04 | We have our friends who are moving to Australia for dinner tonight. Beef Bourguignon and and a bottle of The Black Pig :-) | skinny
19/4/2024 17:59 | Things improved in the last hour of trading. On the week -0.32% YTD -0.85% | malcolm caton
19/4/2024 17:49 | -1.21% this week - not a good week and funds didn't help. YTD is now +0.77% - so just about staying +'ve for now! Good weekend all :) | carpingtris
19/4/2024 17:45 | Down marginally today. Up a few £s on the week. YTD -2.8%. Some decent sunny spells after a late morning shower. 13.5C after 7.6C. I managed to negotiate a deal with the care home to make up a massive deficit on fees in staged payments, after they got a bit threatening legally, mainly because my sister had been resisting paying increases where we had considerable moral, but little legal, defence. She had been meticulously detailed in emails with criticism and queries but it was just dragging out a painful process. I had to push her aside and negotiate on the phone, which went well and got us out of a hole. They relented only very marginally on old fee arrears and there is still an ongoing objection to the £156k p.a., which they are permitting us to underpay for the time being, pending further discussion. There is house sale money to come over still but it will only add a year and the current free cash will run out in a few months. We are already in discussions with the council about where we go if the house money fails to arrive in time, or later on when all money runs out, if my mum last that long. Basically, we have a stay of a few months before things might get stressful again and the council will take over next year, anyway. I'll take that after an awfully stressful few weeks that coincide with an as yet undiagnosed health issue that the NHS is dragging feet over. I can enjoy the weekend now. I hope you all do, too. | aleman
19/4/2024 17:33 | Another no conviction day, +£141. ASY leading gainer, down yesterday back up today. Share of the week : PLUS Loser of the week : PHNX On the week -0.93% Folio YTD -2.23% Also watching Blue Lights, started with series 1 . and continuing the Irish theme, Kin series 2 just started. watching. | blueliner
19/4/2024 17:05 | MrP - the easy answer is at the moment, yes. I finished up 0.03%, -1.49% on the week and -4.91% YTD. Enjoy your weekend. | skinny
19/4/2024 16:59 | Not the sort of week I was looking for, -1.49% on the week and now back into negative territory at -0.84% YTD Run out in the Stag on Sunday for Drive it Day, weather looks OK. Enjoy your weekends MrP | mrphil
19/4/2024 16:46 | Skinny, that does look good. I presume it is still very expensive to produce green hydrogen? | mrphil
