05/6/2017 19:41 | -0.46% today. [FTSE250 -0.67%]. Worst value fallers : HICL -2.4%, ALT -5.8%, GVC -1.6%, BLT -1.7%, also falling further from last week was BMS -5%. No highest value risers worth noting. Main rainband held off till teatime, although threatening all day. | blueliner
05/6/2017 18:41 | Some big falls today, only 6 out of 47 went up. Down 1.14% Ouch! MGNS is the biggest value riser and VED is once again the biggest value faller. My exposure to the mining sector has cost me today and accounts for -0.38% of the fall. Edit: Including dividends, the fall reduces to -1.1%. At least it's not all bad news. ;-) | hyden
05/6/2017 17:41 | I'm down -0.476% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.290%). Worst falls: CLLN -2.47%, MARS -1.80% and WMH -1.71%. Best rises: TATE +1.41%, MKS +0.92% and BT.A +0.49%. Added some RDSB today. They obligingly rose slightly. We might see some movement on Friday, after the election. We had a bit of rain between 3.30 and 4.30 this afternoon, but it seems to have moved away. Likewise at the Oval, where Australia are chasing 183. I wonder how long they will take. 05/6/2017 17:31 | -0.2% for me. A very wet day with chilly rain and a chilly breeze. I'm surprised our high reached 20.1C but there was a brief bright dry spell in mid-afternoon. Otherwise, the current 16C was much more typical, after 11.1C last night. | aleman
05/6/2017 17:01 | Poor day all round today, hassle at work and falls for the investments. SIPP -0.31% GSK, INTU & BRCI/CLLN and the pot -0.40% AIEA, SGC & AMS Out this evening, I see it's starting to rain. | mrphil
05/6/2017 15:04 | USD ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI 56.9 57.1 57.5 | skinny
05/6/2017 12:31 | Private car sales fell 14.0% in May. YTD -4.0%. Fleet sales have now started to fall, as well, at -5.3% for May and +2.4% YTD. Together they total -8.5% for May and -0.6% YTD So car sales are exhibitting a recessionary trend, as well. | aleman
05/6/2017 12:20 | UK van sales fall again in May. Scroll down to see recessionary chart near bottom. | aleman
05/6/2017 11:39 | What's wrong with US employment numbers? (S&P500 figures say employment is falling.) Is the current US recession going to be the first one that does not get reported in government numbers? A different form of economics: | aleman
05/6/2017 11:10 | New York property recession? More UK profit warnings in recruitment and consumer: Dillistone Good Easter fails to stop decline at Comptoir restaurants | aleman
05/6/2017 10:59 | Looks like there may be some positive movement with the DX. takeover. Probably a few more weeks before we know exactly what it all means for DX. shareholders. | mrphil
05/6/2017 09:50 | Looks like had the best of the weather on Friday MrP. Apparently my Ateca is in the country! | skinny
05/6/2017 09:49 | Morning, full of apprehension for the forthcoming week. I was down -0.54% last week, making the Folio YTD +9%. The current quarter dividend accruals would put me into double digits, I may need it if the worst case scenario were to happen. Yesterday visited nearby Hedgehog Rescue Open Day. Was allowed to see 5 tiny 'hoglets' found wrapped up in a roll of fencing delivered to a builders yard, who had called in the RSPCA. They are doing ok in an incubator now. Miracle. | blueliner
05/6/2017 09:23 | Morning All. Great long weekend, and the weather was very kind. Worn out and looking for a rest now! Last weeks performance was better than I expected having seen a nasty fall on Friday. The SIPP managed +0.05% on the week and is now +4.94% YTD, the pot jumped by +0.61% taking it to +9.92% YTD and the Virgin ISA added a further +0.56% to +8.68% YTD. Quite happy with all of those. Back to a usual 2/7 for me on the quiz, knew the Beatles one. Came back to a couple of awkward jobs which I had hoped has gone away! | mrphil
03/6/2017 12:51 | Spittingbarrel - it looks too good to be true - so very probably is! My SIPP finished up 0.35%, +0.23% on the week and is +10.21% YTD. We had a pretty frenetic thunderstorm yesterday evening, which has left todat feeling more fresh - currently @20°C. Enjoy your weekend. | skinny
03/6/2017 11:26 | Busy Thurs and went to Bridlington on Friday. Brid was surprsingly quiet. Occasional spotting rain was a factor but it was warm and bright at times so not a bad day. Kids were happy so we were. -0.2 Thurs and +0.2% on Friday. YTD -5.1%. | aleman
02/6/2017 19:53 | Up all day but somehow it all went wrong in the last 5 minutes of trading. Down 0.1%. Just about up on the week at +0.02%. I am up +12.55% YTD but I reported +12.64% last week so there must have been a mistake with last week's calculation. I'm not sure how that can have happened as my numbers are reported from two different sources. RPC is today's biggest value gainer and CINE is today's biggest faller. ICP has given me the best gains so far this year by far and VED has cost me the most. I should have learned to cut my losses on that one, I think. Funnily enough RPC is my second worse performing share this year, although it is fighting back strongly of late. I hope that VED will take the hint and do the same. Have a great weekend all. | hyden
02/6/2017 18:16 | I'm down slightly on the day, but don't know by how much as I made a typing mistake yesterday (FTSE100 +0.051%), down -0.15% on the week (FTSE100 unchanged) but up +7.65% YTD (FTSE100 +5.67% and HIX +3.36%. Worst falls: TW. -2.74%, MKS -2.03% and UU. -1.96%. Best rises: S32 +1.34%, BATS +1.27% and ULVR +1.22%. Those shares which went XD for big special dividends yesterday continued to fall. RB. is now over £80. Where will it stop? Rain stopped play at Edgbaston again. Only 9 overs played, so they need some more to make a game. We've had no rain here today. Enjoy the weekend. 02/6/2017 16:30 | OMG, I got 7/7. A couple of guesses in that, but I knew a frightening number. DF | deanforester |
