14/8/2019 17:22 | lets say this price is being dictated by a SWF like ADIA or SIA then it should still be bought to the regulators attention for manipulation! Agreed some of the slip in share price has to do with market sentiment such as trade wars with US and China, Germany, US, UK slipping into the negative for the first time, general slowdown in the Middle East and the knock on effect of that on NMC share price. It still does not explain the drop to 4,000 to 1,800 in a matter of less than a year | nsee700
14/8/2019 16:52 | It's seems that the shorts are getting squeezed pssquared closed part of there short position | jredd
14/8/2019 16:51 | Something is up | moneypenny2018
14/8/2019 15:12 | Must admit, didn't think the shorters would provide another opportunity to add before the results, sh t or bust for them I suppose | aquaesulis01
14/8/2019 14:15 | I just sold my Plus500 holding so plenty of cash :) | moneypenny2018
14/8/2019 14:15 | Going to enter a position today. Will put half of what’s I would ideally want here just in case shorts provide me with a better opportunity. | moneypenny2018
14/8/2019 13:59 | Agreed. No M&A to me. I mean its clear from selling activity and movements whats happening. Unfortuntaly this volatility has pushed away some Lt buyers. Probably all waiting a catalyst before engaging. | alexka1
14/8/2019 13:56 | I doubt this is being done deliberately for a Merger or Acq. If that is the case the regulators would be breathing down their necks | nsee700
14/8/2019 13:39 | @moneypenny, thanks that this is precisely why more needs to be done by NMC to keep guard(given the potential it has) to maintain investor confidence! Or else we will keep seeing the stock price tumble. | nsee700
14/8/2019 13:36 | Or it’s being kept down for M&A. Same thing has happened before with so many names. | moneypenny2018
14/8/2019 13:32 | Same manipulators that attacked Burford have done the same here... it will not end well for them. Funds are not deploying in UK stocks and lack of liquidity has helped the shorts. There are others though that can take advantage of this and provide liquidity they are called pension funds and last time I checked NMC had a JV with one of them... | moneypenny2018

14/8/2019 13:03 | Isn't it a blackout period for nmc? | simonandrews981
14/8/2019 13:01 | On paper this stock looks brilliant at the current price, the industry and regions it operates in, the management, the ratios and percentages, the analyst backing them and the sort of investors they have lined up on their portfolio. Also equally impressive are the tittles of some of the no-exec directors. What's the point of all of this??? if investors are taken on a roller coaster of a ride akin to a poorly managed firm? I went in Nov 2018 at 3,500 and i held until the whole Muddy Waters fiasco. Very little was done to put the fire out! I think there needs to be a change in culture at how they handle investor sentiments and how they manage news that affects their stock price! | nsee700
14/8/2019 12:54 | All depends on where the squeeze begins from if it does at all. If the price drops by another 20-25% pre results then any short covering will just get to around £20 mark. Something does not add up here imo. | aishah
14/8/2019 12:53 | Bear in mind that in the run up to a normal results announcement a London listed company will be expected to observe a black out in the absence of an obligation to make an announcement. | charlie varrick
14/8/2019 12:52 | Just because they have big 4 as auditors u hsve to check the health of promoters | smartinvest1
14/8/2019 12:51 | Chalk another one up to buywell | buywell3
14/8/2019 12:43 | The investor relations teams and the public relations team at NMC should be on their toes after what happened over the last two weeks or so with the share price. Very little has been said or done unfortunately. This is poor from a FTSE100 listed company. | nsee700
14/8/2019 12:42 | Pls can you explain what is not transparent about NMC ? This is what short sellers want ppl to believe (are you one of them ? :) ). NMC uses top notch accountants and auditors (western ones, top 3) as you can see in their reports. I feel they have been transparent on acquisitions, prices, numbers and all. not sure what is lacking. it is a company that have been disclosing regularly numbers and issuing guidance, with a decent amount of analyst coverage. Share price has been acting crazy on the back of short sellers selling as you can clearly see in the short data of the FCA. obviously when a stock is thinly traded and every week since december a hedge fund short 0.10% of the company, this will create a downward momentum, coupled with some bad press focusing on the short sellers. I cant see any reasons for it to be that low and i am confident about company data, Also 2 analysts reaffirmed sit visits (GS and Barclays) last month and reiterated they are comfortable with numbers. So a HF based in the US has more clarity than analysts that have bee studying the stock, coordinating with management and doing site visits? also more clarity then its own insiders that have been buying shares? | alexka1
14/8/2019 12:35 | The way the share price has been acting is questionable here (as fast as it rose to 4,000 and even quicker in terms of dropping to 1,800 level). I dont think enough is being done to maintain transparency and calm investor sentiments. Is this because NMC is predominantly based in the Middle East and listed on LSE in other words that culture of maintaining transparency is not polished enough? | nsee700
14/8/2019 12:31 | Welcome to the family! Seems your first post is on nmc :) | jredd
14/8/2019 12:26 | Back in at this level. Been out for a while. Bargain at these prices | wburton619 |
