Sothebys got bought and taken private with a 61% premium overnight paid versus mkt price. I wouldnt be surprised for the two stakeholders to have an offer with a susbtantial premium. They may not sell indeed as they may have a price target that is much higher. But even in the latter scenario this is a welcoming news, and would show the belief of the two largest stakeholders in this company and potential. I wouldnt be surprised if they have an offer of 30 and if they would find this too low and want more.

I’m sceptical that the management are going to sell any of their personal holdings to Fosun or anyone else for that matter in the short term.If they did,then the sale price would,to some respect,have to reflect the recent share price weakness.You can’t suddenly ignore market movements and say,’hey,you want to buy a stake,pay us £40 “, when the shares languish at half that price on the stock exchange.What this leaked article tells us is that (in the real world,away from hedge funds and shorting) this business is in the view of the company and the majority of brokers and commentators,sound,solid and very profitable..... and NMC are saying.. “if you don’t believe it,you should be aware that someone like Fosun would be interested in buying a substantial interest in our company for a substantial premium to current share price levels”.The lights will the burning long and bright in AQR’s offices tonight.

Btw I am now starting to think if this was the reason we had news on the pledges shares... close the loan get the shares and sell them at a multiple to a serious buyer...

Fosun certainly has far-ranging conglomerate spirit: from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Thomas Cook and now NMC; albeit with majority interests in pharma/healthcare, thus a logical move.

Interesting timing.Cynics might suggest that this article was encouraged by NMC management fed up to the back teeth with the weakness in the price and continued shorting activity.Whether anything materialises remains to be seen but it makes a pleasant change after the collateral damage NMC suffered on the back of Muddywaters that there's some positive press to kick the bears out of their comfort zone.

Bearing in mind the CEO added at over £25 before the close period, and there are two competing groups, I would guess it starts at £35+ as there are not the free shares available on the open market hence why the shorters are really going to struggle to close out!

Whats the premium though. Surely we would have seen them buying stock anyway. If they want 40% they have to buy from the shareholder owners at a good premium is that 25,28,33 if it’s the mid and results are good this should be 27
