Interesting how they tried to push this down and squeeze BATs up at the same time. Both started reversing at the same time... points to manipulation from the guys with the deep pockets...

I'm not sure that when a FTSE 100 stock more than halves in half a year and then bounces by two thirds in a few weeks,we could all be forgiven for thinking a wee bit like short term traders.In such circumstances,you can maintain a core holding -as I have done- but I've also played the volatility with varying degrees of success.Frankly,if the stock now fell back to £25 i wouldn't be that surprised .Thereagain,It could be £35 in a week or so.

I am not selling either. The problem with selling is that you need to find an alternative to put your money at work. At least here we have the shorts and the buybacks to support the price going forward. If I aid sold back at 24-25 I would have lost a huge premium so glad I did not. You have to keep the winners longer and sells the losers early to make decent profits.

Agreed but whoever is long a big position, has probably been following the stock closely and realise whats going on and know why its going up and wouldnt sell at these levels given that there is a long way to go for short covering.

Looking good but worried that considering the decent profits (i.e I am up 60%) as target prices are reached some guys that have accumulated big positions will sell to lock profits.

Volumes and price have been going up recently during the US session, as buying done from the US. Lets target 31 in this afternoon session!
I am not selling, shorts have still a lot to buy, this is heading to 40

Miniscule, but first disclosure of a short reduction by AQR - 0.02% on 4/9/19 - only 42,000 shares.

Interesting to see where this leads.

They were still adding to their short holding at £18 (August) soon after the rumour Muddy Waters were about to spill the beans...that seems to have backfired, thankfully.

Onwards and upwards, I think.

AQR have been adding to their NMC short since November 2018, heaviest period of buying was Jan to Mar when over 2% was accumulated, average price of £28 or thereabouts. Still some way to go before they feel the squeeze. I would hope the current trend is upwards, but it wouldn't take a lot to interrupt that movement, especially from the Middle East.
If AQN reduce further in the next 5 days, this will be a clear indicator of a potential price rise to the £30 + mark pretty soon.
