03/11/2009 08:03 | Can only buy 10k shares online - so looking interesting today | opportunitystocks2009
03/11/2009 08:02 | Morning all just seen the news well what ever happens we must be worth more than the cash in the bank. What price do we put on for all their compounds we are not even at cash level yet so a long way to go IMHO | quinan
03/11/2009 08:00 | "Possible" offer is standard wording. IMHO there is an offer on the table. They have now said "Forget the JVs, who wants the whole company?". This will flush out others, so hold on to your hats. | arc2006
03/11/2009 07:59 | ha the company at 20-22 is currently valued at cash only.... hmmm q you would be jumping up and down like crzy right now if you owned any... | opportunitystocks2009
03/11/2009 07:57 | I think there will have been a few PI's sitting on the sidelines waiting for a cheaper share price to have been hit before jumping in and on the back of this news we could have some good buying pressure early doors! GLA | mike_f
03/11/2009 07:52 | in my opinion...the premium is in the price.......... "possible offer" the rns does not look very encouraging..... good luck holders......... | quraishim
03/11/2009 07:49 | 20-22p pre opening. Sadly I don't expect fireworks as they are willing sellers of the business, but they do mention "third parties". | the_beagle
03/11/2009 07:43 | Well the major shareholders will be looking to get a decent price so lets go, this is excellent news. And only 30million shares in issue so could be interesting!! imho | opportunitystocks2009
03/11/2009 07:41 | Should have a bit of action today guys ;) | mike_f
03/11/2009 07:37 | RNS Number : 8148B Neuropharm Group PLC 03 November 2009 For immediate release 3 November 2009 Neuropharm Group Plc ("Neuropharm" or "the Company") Possible Offer Neuropharm Group plc (AIM: NPH), a speciality pharmaceutical company focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, today announces that it is in discussions which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the Company. The Company further confirms that it is seeking a sale or merger of the Company in order that the value of its pipeline can be maximised. Piper Jaffray Ltd. has been appointed to advise the Company in connection with this process. Following the announcement of its preliminary results Neuropham has had discussions with its major shareholders to explore the options available to the Company to realise the maximum value of its pipeline. As a result of these discussions, and the prevailing market conditions, the Board of Neuropharm has concluded that shareholder value is more likely to be maximised through seeking a sale or merger partner which will be better placed to fund the Company's clinical development portfolio. Neuropharm is therefore deemed to be in an Offer Period for the purposes of the Takeover Code. The Company will provide a further update to shareholders at the time of its AGM on 9 December 2009, or such earlier time as may be appropriate depending on the progress of its discussions with third parties. In accordance with Rule 2.10 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, the Company announces that it has 31,536,697 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in issue and admitted to trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange plc. 03/11/2009 07:34 | should be price action from the market open then sit back.. :-) nia dyor | andrbea
03/11/2009 07:33 | Bingo... Cash is 20p plus, so offer for business plus cash - my guess would be around 50p. imho | opportunitystocks2009
03/11/2009 07:26 | Possible offer and keen to sell this time round. Must be "cash plus". 30p would be nice, forget the £1. I think they are saying that they need a partner to survive, so the bargaining power has to be with the bidder. This is a way out for many, especially Lombiff, who along with me will probably see this as a Godsend. PS It's my birthday today! | the_beagle
02/11/2009 15:55 | Timing indeed. I don't see what has changed particularly. We we're always going to have to wait 18m - 2y for the main compound to complete new phase 3 and reach market. They have been a bit quiet, but essentially they were tied up with one potential partner for a long while. We don't know why that didn't go ahead and that has caused uncertainty. Notwithstanding, we're still in the position we were in May ie discussions with potential partners ongoing. Perhaps we will see an outright TO. This would certainly be positive in the short term with respect to the SP, but I'd much rather have a share of the successful product with an independent company and I'm prepared to wait for that. Either way 6m in the bank is a nice buffer for us PIs. | arc2006
02/11/2009 13:11 | Boobly - you're right about that - I know I'll have to trickle feed my holding back into the market, and disposals will have to be done in small chunks, just the same as how I've accumulated them. Naturally, I hope I also have the additional problem of having to sell them over many tax years to reduce the old CGT bill!! Right now, that seems a long way off, but I'm happy to wait, and I totally agree with you that we are now waiting for the real news. Timing eh - tell me about it - £28K wouldn't be my worst result by a long way! All the best | lombiff
02/11/2009 09:49 | ...." there's no way I'll sell now as news could be anytime. " Pleased to hear that , however with 400k I doubt you would be able to , certainly your £28k might be nearer to £56k :>( I don`t think there`s been too much hype , this is a very quiet thread . I agree that there was some speculative buying around the run up to results , ( and they were a little less than explicit or exciting ), but I would think that`s all been washed through now , hence the fall . I imagine most people invested are waiting to hear what is REALLY going on with product and JV . The slightest whiff of positivity from management and this shoul be north of 25p in a flash . I think my `mistake` here has been misjudging timescales.....again ! | boobly
02/11/2009 09:39 | GL Lom, sure it will come good for us... nice to see a little blue today and a slight corrdction on sp, been very oversold fair value around 22p just to hit cash... GLA | mike_f
02/11/2009 09:37 | Looking better this am. One buy at 16p seems to have got things moving up for a change Pipr have been a seller for some time, but having upped their offer to 17p it looks as if they may have finished. Surely an share price in the 20-25 range is a fair market value without news. | the_beagle
02/11/2009 07:32 | Mike - still here with my 400K - have been overseas quite a bit lately so haven't followed closely. I believe we haven't had the news yet - I said I'd wait until New Year and haven't changed that view. Unfortunately, I think the results were hyped up on the BBs and too much was expected - we're paying the price for that now. I'm still a believer - don't forget that Edison valued this at 40p, even if NPL-2008 was a complete failure, and IMO it's not a complete failure yet. Cash burn is obviously an issue, but I still like the compounds and what the company is trying to achieve. Hindsight is a great thing - could have sold at anywhere above 21p, made a profit, and bought back in now, but that's OK. I'm on a paper loss of £28K but there's no way I'll sell now as news could be anytime. | lombiff
31/10/2009 09:41 | Totally agree Boobly, PI's are losing faith, they need reassurance... | mike_f
31/10/2009 09:25 | Yes , also agree . Barchart aggregates trends , they are indicators only , and I have dificulty in translating indicators into firm recomendations . Barchart do not have a particularly good reputation or reliable record . ............ but we musn`t ignore the 50 - 100 Day MACD Oscillator , which rates NPH a BUY ! Repeat my earlier post ; ` Management need to demonstrate support for this business ` - NOW ! | boobly
31/10/2009 09:10 | ihnc, very true, Barchart isn't always correct! This has to be a strong buy at current share price when cash is considerably more... | mike_f
31/10/2009 08:52 | And Barchart gave it a 100% buy at 40p ... run along Porky | ihavenoclue
30/10/2009 20:50 | just been updated with todays trading. | pork belly |
