ih_16: Good point! Nanoco should develop materials with no concern about their end use. Waste of time and money to target ultimate markets.

Gaps now closed on the hourly. Bull flag developing. Which way will it break...
Funnily enough i'd be more wary at the mo if it broke out upwards without any news to support.
Good weekend.

Because we believe in the tech and the market and keep believing MEs promises. But each time they are not delivered or indeed the longer it goes on without any delivery it gets tougher. If I was more hard nosed I would have been out long ago.

Oh dear. This does sound a pig of an investment judging by the tone of recent posts.
I could understand from a trading perspective but if a LTH why would you still be here? Would surely be better off looking for other ops unless....

Surely crunch Dow has invested in specific process equipment to manufacture Nano's IP. And the recent upgrade investment. Much of this would be written off if they jumped into bed with an alternative flavour of dots.

DOW doesn't need to discuss anything..its a non exclusive deal..they are just dating and csn aee other people if they find the relationship isn't what they thought it was.

Look up the history of Solyndra..it had fantastic promises too of leading tech in Solar..A smart guy I know called its failure and how it would fail a year before.QDV has already shown us that being first out of the gate means nothing ..especially if you are more focused on end products and not the materials that you make for them.

If the Dow deal had gone South, Nanoco would be required to disclose so. Yet, Dow's deal with Kangde Xin and Hisense is proof that commercialization is imminent. The Kyulux venture is further proof that Nanoco's technology is advancing. Progress is being made in biological, lighting and solar. Even if sales are delayed and Nanoco must seek further funding, the long term prospects look good. I still maintain that Nanoco is a far better investment than Quantum Materials Corp and don't need to see the latter promoted on this site. As I have said before, the Quantum Materials products has a better chance of succeeding than its investors.

Something I find hard to understand regarding quality issues ... Why would Dow commit such a high investment in a process that had not (at that time) demonstrated stable and consistent manufacture results. Dow's continued investment has always been a reassurance, but there does seem to be an issue getting buyers of the end product. I presume the history of manufacturing is littered with large investments in new tech that never took off. Let's hope this is not one of those. I'm referring to the specific type of QDs and manufacturing that Nanotec has, not the future of QDs in genetsl

They will most likely have to sell the IP. But I can't see it will fetch the numbers mentioned on here if it is not capable of commercialisation and others like QMC will commercialise better processes soon.

it has to be reiterated just how much cash these guys have blown on unecessary largesse with clearly no visibility on comercialiaation. It's all well and good saying they will move to An IP model. But they will still run out of cash if nobody can actually commercialise the IP

Crunch in most cases the share price reflects the risk and yes we are a couple of days past May the share price has held its head above 35 for reasons that investors can only speculate on the background noise.

Syd they say they are always expecting orders and keep missing those targets..stabiliy issues with the film ? OEMs wont pay the asking price for yhe film ? DOW searching for other avenues through other qd manufacturers ? Lots of unanswered questions.

Yes, I know syd, so there's a month still left in the second half of their financial year.

My question stands.

As stated on the other BB (LSE) Nanoco expects orders to come on the second half of the year and that's by the end of this month.I see WH shares are steadily climbing and it might be a tad early for winter release of large screens but orders for smaller monitors might be around the corner.

I have to agree - if WH orders had been received there would be an announcement - no announcement = no sales. Running out excuses now....

All I'm saying is that they've been offering jam for years. This forecast had a timescale. That they haven't said anything about sales by the end of May doesn't necessarily imply anything untoward. They might be nowhere near significant sustainable sales due to price or quality issues, there might be delays, or they may actually be in production and have their own reasons for not releasing the information. It is an incredibly frustrating company to follow. (Stating the obvious for the umpteenth time).

If they get a commercial order through wah hong they will announce it. Simple as that. As one thing says it's a huge milestone. They haven't amounced so there is yet more slippage. I have said one potential reason for this. And I note one of the founding shareholders has just massively reduced.
