03/3/2011 12:18 | TT I think that it maybe have some-thing to do with the strength of the brand which encourages people to hold or buy on weakness regardless of excessive valuation, many PIs buy retail on the name alone amazingly-it may take a RNS suggesting slower EPS growth or a broader marker sell-off for the tide to come out on this one. | utsushi
23/2/2011 16:39 | being in this share is why i have started to wear brown trousers! | james111
23/2/2011 15:46 | Couldn't agree more and well done on the short. It moves very quickly becuase it is so tightly held with very few shares in free float. Stupidly overvalued, but I can't bring myself to short it as I think the risk of a very quick take private or buy out is still real (even at this price!!). Still, as you say, fascinating. | goliard
23/2/2011 15:19 | Quite a remarkable recovery. Very resilient this share. Especially on such a red day. Seems to defy all logic. Don't mean to gloat but I still cant believe I shorted this from 1392 to intraday low 1015. Very lucky and not my usual success. Maybe this could now break previous highs this time. I will monitor and look at shorting again round the £15 mark. This really is a fascinating share! | trikytree
22/2/2011 15:17 | still in there, in san francisco and stuck my head in the sand, still bit of a bounce this morning. | james111
21/2/2011 15:27 | Well done TT. Has the covering of shorts caused the bounce upwards and will we see the second round of falls very soon, bring this down to the region of £7.? | clocktower
21/2/2011 14:14 | Santori, I agree, more downside very likely. I put in a limit order of 1015 earlier tho and it was reached so I'm out. Almost 400 points worth of profit in just days which is nice to have banked. If this bounces back up I'll look to short again. | trikytree
21/2/2011 10:57 | I thought that at the peak it was trading on 40x pros, say 20x would imply a 50% fall, so perhaps more down-side to some-thing more realistic? | utsushi
21/2/2011 09:17 | Oh dear. Down another 10% almost lol. Very tempted to cash in my short now and move on. | trikytree
18/2/2011 19:19 | grossly overvalued | salver2
18/2/2011 15:58 | Good Luck TT but with so few shares in issue it can go anyway - crazy p/e it maybe but then look at Super group - ASOS - the CFO dropped of a fair wack,so I think your call is good but with tight stops. | clocktower
18/2/2011 15:48 | Lol, buying opportunity at a p/e of 200. Yeah right, lol. This will end in tears! | trikytree
18/2/2011 15:41 | This is not institutions selling, its PIs. Once they have all sold I wouldn't be suprised to see a sharp upward movement as the shortage of stock becomes apparent. Their products sell and are very good. They are the fastest growing luxury fashion brand worldwide and I wouldn't be suprised to see other premium brands running the slide-rule over them. I regard any retreat as a buying opportunity. | irenekent
18/2/2011 15:22 | This may tank time! | prorg
18/2/2011 15:02 | They'll need to sell well to justify this crazy valuation. Very happy to be short!! | trikytree
18/2/2011 14:53 | Having looked at one of the stores earlier this week - I would be cautious shorting this - bags selling at £500.00+ and yes they were selling. | clocktower
18/2/2011 14:48 | Looks like I got lucky shorting this one! Any one know the reason for the sharp fall (apart from it being way overvalued)? Tempted to close but think it has much further to fall. | trikytree
10/2/2011 14:56 | FCCN - The announcement of the FCCN's results of the Group for the year ended 31 January 2011 will be on 16 March 2011. | dnfa1975
10/2/2011 08:16 | Shorts taken on City Index. | trikytree
10/2/2011 08:04 | unborrowable according to IG, so not possible to short. How are others shorting MUL ? thanks | fft
08/2/2011 11:35 | You're both right. This is turning into the Ocado of the fashion world! | goliard
08/2/2011 08:17 | TrikyTree, I agree with all you say, yet this share defies logic, I thought about selling when it hit £1. Everytime we get a small set back it bounces straight back up past the previous high, yea iI know I will get caught but would hate to see this thing hit £20 after I sold. £20 looks stupid but 6 months ago we all would have laughed at £10 let alone £14. Regards James | james111
07/2/2011 16:06 | A few big sells coming through in last hour. At this price World Fashion Domination is priced in, and that simply ain't gonna happen! | trikytree
07/2/2011 12:50 | Well I've been brave and have gone against this long term trend and opened a short. Many people have failed and lost big doing this before now but I think now is the right time. This has just got crazy! Mulberry handbags may drift out of fashion just as quickly as they came in. As soon as people like James start taking their profits this will fall back. It's only a small position to start with so I can comfortably hold if this rise continues and increase my short as necesary. I'm looking forward to common sense returning to this share price! | trikytree
04/2/2011 13:33 | Awesome James111 for holding it all the way . I wish i had picked these up last Aug ( i was thinking about but missed the boat ) I ran quick checks on the company today . Broker estimates from Altium Adjusted pre-tax profit = £15m EPS for Spet 11 = 18.1p Forward PE @ 1400p = 77 ------------------- PE @ £40m profit = 29 ------------------- I agree that they have potential to open up stores everywhere and Nouveau riche Asians are gonig to be a new market. For that reason, 1400P might be a fair price couple of years down the line, but for now it is over bought, imo. | attrader |
