Bit of risk off in the markets, all the riskier shares down today now. Profit taking here too after many days of upside. Back up again this afternoon if US markets take off or may have to wait until tomorrow

A nice buying opportunity for the iis or for those wishing to increase their stake as part of a plan to takeover

Indeed, a sale for very short-term traders only; but 18month downtrend broken and clear upside targets:

The Cosmen family made an approach for this company with CVC back in 2009, back then they planned to sell the UK operations to Stagecoach, and keep the Spanish bit, the Cosmens are the joint partners in Mobico's new company that is trying to launch a rival to Eurostar

Chart-wise, this looks like a decent place to take profits.

Post 705...hope so but after 2009 everything rallied with zero rates and QE...US markets are at all time highs lead by the narrow magnificent 7 while rates are high and 2 ongoing wars...also 2024 election year...the rest of sectors/shares have fallen away...either the switch over from top heavy tech to old economy shares on hopes of rate cuts this year...

I’ve bought more in anticipation of the bounce. Just a tree shake with retail investors taking profits

Blimey, well over 500 bot trades in the first 12 minutes.

Worth pointing out that company hasn’t traded above the 200 dma for 18 months, since 07 June 2022. From the mid December 2023 share price turn around, the 200 is once again within reach at circa 90. That’s just 6% up from where we are now.
Additionally, I see a pattern forming. The last historical lows of April 2009 saw sudden and significant gains thereafter, from 60 to 190 in short order. Could history repeat itself?
The batch of recent RNS’s suggests it could.

Given that some of these purchases were off book trades, especially the last 2 by Northern express (cosmens) and azvalor, because there was no real impact on the share price until after the event (holding RNS), I would doubt they came from PIs selling. The purchases are too large surely.

Unless mns have been bulk stocking shares sold by PIs for some time now.
It's baffling me.

Although this happened to ASOS abd boohoo. On any weakness (selling by retail investors) they kept buying up the shares.

Given the decent rise here in the past 10 days that could be it?

The shareholder must notify the company (and the FCA) within two trading days of the interest first arising or of any subsequent change. The company must notify the market by the end of the next following trading day. There is a prescribed form for the notifications (TR1) which can be downloaded from the FCA website: www fca.org.uk and DTR 5.10.1 provides that this information must be filed by electronic means.

Notifications by issuers

At the end of each month, companies must disclose the total number of voting rights and share capital if there has been a change during the month. Such notification must include details of any shares held in treasury. Any changes to the terms of voting rights must be notified immediately. Also, if a company buys back its own shares or releases shares from treasury and the result means that either the 5% or 10% threshold is reached, exceeded or fallen below, then the company must notify the market within four trading days

70 million shares (over 11%) since Dec 2 from stale institutions? no TR1s showing reductions,,where are these shares coming from.

Recent volume doesn't support these buys coming from the daily market. As you say, if it continues then it doesn't really matter but it would appear that these positions come from stale institutions.

Interesting. The Cosmen Family have bought holdings using two different limited companies and a further RNS shows a Spanish Asset Management company taking a 3% stake.
