I've just had a quick look at this after yesterday's fall. Debts of £1.2 billion, it is obvious that this is not sustainable. Big question is how much is America worth? The accounts for last year have around £750m goodwill for the business, but reading the audit report it seems the auditor took a lot of convincing. If the business was sold in 2019 then it was probably worth this and more, but it has really struggled after covid and covid payments to the company have distorted figures. Last year EBIT was £68m on turnover of 1048, but this included £39 of omicron. First half of this year EBIT is 13.8, but with a turnaround expected in the second half. So what is the correct figure and will buyers be prepared to pay for jam tomorrow? Say £50m and that looks being generous, on a multiple of say 7 for EBIT, that gives you £350m. If that was correct (who knows?) then without the North American business it might have EBIT of say £130m. Normally debts should be under 3 x but lets go for an aggressive 4. That means the remaining business should have debts of around £500m. That leaves £350m to find? Some sort of rights issue? Anyway who knows? I may be completely wrong with all these figures!

Analysts at Peel Hunt revoked their Buy rating “given the latest disappointment”, and said: “We are sceptical that sufficient value can be realised from [US] student bus without a significant improvement.”

This is heading for shorting territory again. Anything over 80p and I'll be back in.

Rinse and repeat.

The high volume day and doji created on the chart yesterday hopefully signalled the bottom finally going in as many threw in the towel at the point maximum fear.

Well I doubled down yesterday, I personally think this will recover well leading up to a biz disposal early 2024 or we'll see a cheap takeover around the £1 level.

Extremely undervalued, we had positive passenger volumes in Europe and the growth of its German subsidiary, with new contracts on a number of rail lines.

Its Spanish long-haul business Alsa has also seen solid demand, with passenger volumes up 29 per cent. Drop here is over done.

Close call as had this on my watch list. Condolences to holders and thanks must go to MRF who flagged their intangible assets and weak BS - those that preferred to not listen and much preferred to down tick and attack any contrarian views, take note.

Not a distressed seller. We have one of the largest networks in USA. Valuable long standing contracts.

In the USA investors are prepared to pay 10-20 times earnings.
