Dramatic Rise of Foreign Investments in Greece



Greece marked an impressive increase of 74.3 percent in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2021, according to the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company, also known as Enterprise Greece.

Enterprise Greece recently released data issued by the Bank of Greece showing that net inflows of foreign direct investment exceeded 5 billion euros ($5,055.9 million).

Compared to 2.9 billion euros in 2020, last year saw the largest net foreign direct investment inflow in Greece since 2002.

“The image of Greece as an investment destination has changed dramatically and is now among the most attractive investment destinations in Europe,” the agency’s CEO, George Filiopoulos, told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.

In the past two years, giant foreign companies have trusted Greece as an opportunity for investment, especially in IT and green entrepreneurship.

Including:

The ambitious Lamda Development investment project at the former airport at Ellinikon will transform Greece’s Riviera.

The company is to invest 8 billion euros — the largest private investment ever to be made in Greece — for a seaside metropolitan park.

The 2,000,000 square meter (21,527,820 square foot) area will include residential communities, hotels, shopping centers, a casino, family entertainment venues, museums, and other cultural venues, health and wellness centers, sports and recreation facilities, and will be an R & D hub.

In addition, there will be a total regeneration of the existing marina and the entire shoreline that will, along with the Park, will be the major attractions of the site.

Well, one thing missing today was the seller. Maybe he is finished or its just the price is too low for him.

Looks to me as if the web-site has had a bit of an update - impressive and shows investors/interested parties the extent and potential of the project.

Certainly wouldn’t take much for us to see 18 month highs from here but that sort of interest and volume will only come with the next positive update unless the P&D gang jump on it and I don’t really want to see that happen.

MarBella Collection: New Investments of €40m on Corfu and in Thesprotia



The MarBella Collection Hotel Group is further expanding its activities in the Greek hospitality sector through a 40-million-euro investment program for the period 2022-2025.

The group has announced the creation of a brand new hotel unit on Corfu, with a capacity of up to 200 beds. Budgeted at 15 million euros, the project will be completed in 2024.

In addition, the group will strengthen its presence in Thesprotia with the creation of a 3.5-million-euro complex of luxury villas in the area of Karavostasi, adjacent to the recently launched MarBella Elix.

“Our goal is to remain leaders in the field of luxury hospitality, respectfully showcasing the destinations in which we operate. We are creating an expanded luxury hotel product offering in order to meet the needs of modern travelers at any stage of their life,” MarBella Collection Group Vassilis Dracopoulos said.

Interesting to see you have taken the plunge CT. This week there has been a small number of net buys so the fall as usual is totally false and just designed to curtail any selling.

Hopefully despite the circumstances MIN are cracking on with negotiations…
