sceptical...that round gives me IMMENSE confidence in MCRO. Whereas a year ago that would have been cataclysmic, the market shrugged it off (after giving us some cheap shares). We looked at it, took it as a minor irritation, bought the value and now maybe we go over 500p today.

stoxx67...thanks! interesting day. started really badly with MCRO, SAGA and AGL dropping. I added on both MCRO and SAGA with the dip and now all have recovered with SAGA nicely blue.
Matter of keeping the fundamentals in sight and not being rattled by drops - seeing them as good opportunities. Sorts out the investors from the gamblers.

Page 219 of the Annual Report:

On 11 December 2020, Micro Focus filed a motion for summary judgment, which the Court denied on 14 January 2021. On 18 December 2020, the case was mediated but did not settle. The Final Pretrial Conference is scheduled for February 2021, and the Micro Focus trial is set for 1 March 2021. Micro Focus’ defences against liability include that the patent claims are not infringed, and that the patent claims are invalid. These infringement and invalidity claims will be contested on their merits at trial. Due to the Group’s assessment that the asserted patent claims are not infringed and/or are invalid, no provision is recorded for this ; however as the outcome of the trial is uncertain we have disclosed this potential obligation.

Been doing a little digging to try and get some more background on this case and discovered that Wapp Tech also have further related claims ongoing in East Texas against Wells Fargo and Bank of America in addition to HP / Micro Focus.

depends on strength of case, don't want to give these litigious peasants £175m unnecessarily ;), wouldn't want to get a rep as being a settle rather than fight company. though i do see your point with regards AWS, sure AWS have their fair share of litigation and they strike me as a company that will have done due diligence prior to the relationship being announced, sure they were made aware ;)

May take 4 years more by which time the IP in question may be significantly further advanced given tie up with AWS.May be better to sort it out quicker as judge will take into account revenues driven by the IP at that point.Also AWS will not want bad publicity and will be contractually covered in this eventuality. Dragging it through court may not be ideal
